Toy Fair 2016: A Second Chance at The Avengers Action Figures

As a collector of Marvel Legends (or really any modern action figure line), the hunt can be brutal. Miss a figure during it's retail window and you must pay the Ebay demons. Miss that hiked up run and a figure can rocket to upwards of 300 dollars within in a few years. Gone are the days when you could hit KB Toys and raid their 3 for 10 bin, containing generic repacks of all of Toy Biz's heavy hitters... Color Changing Ice Man, Removable Mask Venom, Color Changing Sue Storm (they really liked the color changing gimmick!)...they were all in there. Most of the time, if you missed a figure the first time around and the price jumped, you'd get a second shot at it. The packaging was different and the paint might have been slightly altered, but it was YOURS. Now, Hasbro might be giving us a hint at those glory days returning with a new wave of "Best of Avengers" containing all those movie stars you missed in Exclusive Walmart waves and boxed sets too rich for your wallet.

New Avengers: Age of Ultron Poster Changes Everything

Today, Marvel Studios released the official movie poster for Avengers: Age of Ultron...and it blew people's minds! Not only does the poster's cast lineup reveal the appearance of Anthony Mackie's "Falcon" in the film (something apparently long rumored but not confirmed) but the poster art itself explores just how deeply Joss Whedon has changed our favorite alien fighting super team. Kevin Feige explains...

"The Avengers films, ideally, in the grand plan are always big, giant linchpins," he said. "It’s like as it was in publishing, when each of the characters would go on their own adventures and then occasionally team up for a big, 12-issue mega-event. Then they would go back into their own comics, and be changed from whatever that event was."

X-Babies Vs Tiny Vengers!

I am an old school Marvel Zombie, but lately, the gimmicks designed to draw me in have done nothing but chase me away. Vampire Mutants? Baa. The X-Men turning in on themselves? What else is new? The return of Phoenix??!! This one made me want to punch my computer in the face. Now...finally... Skottie Young gives us a reason to be excited about Avengers Vs X-Men. An amazing cast of actors and actresses..together at last doing what they do like no other. Can you wait any longer for this to hit screens? Yea..well yer gonna have to..but for now..we can give you HULK ACTION!!! Dig the extended preview...

Oh and those things attacking the city...perhaps..Frost Giants??!! U decide. We previously mentioned that one of the flying things is LOKI riding on a something or other, so Frost Giants always made sense...but I suspect there will be something more.

The Joes are back to business...and this time..it's NINJA BUSINESS!! ..at least you would think so by the titles of all the new toys from Hasbro. Dig the new trailer...


BATTLESHIP: I'll admit to laughing and pointing when I saw the first trailer which showed a Battleship being pierced by giant, peg-like missiles which exploded seconds later. It smelled like we were in for a ridiculous time. Now we see giant metal destructo-balls, and HALO looking creatures called the Regent wreaking havoc on a human race caught totally by surprise. IT'S WAR!! The Hasbro KRE-O Construction Sets revealed little in the way of a plot, so we hold out hope this film will offer something new to the already overflowing box of "Aliens kick our ass" movies. Here's the latest trailer...



TRANSFORMERS: THE RIDE 3D: Last up we get a teaser for Universal Studios newest attraction opening this May! It doesn't give anything away at all, but I figured my Bot-Heads would dig it...and it is always a good day when we get to hear those Optimus Prime and Megatron voices!! Here are the goods...

Avengers Tease at Licensing Show

Twitter mogul ESQ. (https://twitter.com/#!/theonlyesq) got the drop on the Licensing show AKA that thing that used to happen in NY where we'd go take pics of the walls and displays and go home. heh. This is the first grouping I've seen of the movie accurate characters rushing into battle together, no doubt cobbled for the show specifically to get people thinking about all the wonderful widgets they can slap Avengers logos onto! Just think of it..beach blankets..hard hats..feminine hygiene products...
