HBO Prepares For The Final Season Of True Blood

At the conclusion of season six of TRUE BLOOD, Sookie was forced to take a hard look at her future. Bill discovered that salvation comes at a price. And Eric’s ultimate fate remained a mystery. Meanwhile, the town of Bon Temps braced itself for a new crisis that would threaten humans and vampires alike.

TRUE BLOOD returns for its ten-episode, seventh and final season SUNDAY, JUNE 22 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO, followed by other new episodes on subsequent Sundays at the same time. Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor, the series takes place in a world where vampires and humans co-exist, after vampires have come out of the coffin, thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood that means they no longer need humans as a nutritional source. The series follows waitress and part-faerie Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who can hear people’s thoughts, and vampires Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and Eric Northman (Alexander SkarsgĂ„rd). Created by Alan Ball, the show is based on the bestselling Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris.

Knights of Badassdom To Tear SDCC a New Orifice

Here it comes. The man who brought you a woman being split in half and then subtly suggested radioactive hillbillies might still rape her in Wrong Turn 2 makes his triumphant return. It's time for something magical...and most likely very wrong.

The highly anticipated independent film KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM will be coming to San Diego Comic Con 2011. The film will be in Hall H on Saturday, July 23 at 2:15 PM.

The KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM panel will include a Comic-Con exclusive trailer and a panel discussion/Q&A with stars Ryan Kwanten (HBO’s True Blood, RED HILL), Peter Dinklage (HBO’s Game of Thrones, STATION AGENT), Summer Glau (Firefly, SERENITY, The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Danny Pudi (NBC’s Community), Margarita Levieva ( THE LINCOLN LAWYER, ADVENTURELAND), and director Joe Lynch (WRONG TURN 2).

In this humorous fantasy adventure from IndieVest Pictures, Joe (Ryan Kwanten) is a heavy metal rocker who’s just gone through a painful breakup with his girlfriend, Beth (Margarita Levieva). His concerned roommates (Steve Zahn, Peter Dinklage) kidnap him to their LARP (Live Action Role Playing) gathering, where he enters a realm of fantasy escapism in which pretend knights, elves, and barbarians clash with foam weaponry on a mock battlefield. When Joe’s “sorcerer” roommate (Zahn) inadvertently summons a deadly succubus that takes Beth’s seductive form, bloody reality crashes down upon their fantasy world. Once LARPers start to turn up dead, the make-believe wizards and warriors must become the real life heroes they have been pretending to be in order to conquer the evil that has been unleashed.

Griff The Invisible

Seems the geek train will never stop! As hero culture breaks out of the four walled panel...and onto your TV screen, and then leaps out onto the BIG screen, we just can't seem to get enough of it and thankfully, there seems to be no shortage of original takes on the theme. Kick-Ass presented us with an average kid just trying to make a difference. Special showed us that sometimes, wanting to change the world for the better is all the super power you need..even if you are mentally unstable. Super takes that concept, spins it several times and delivers justice at the end of a nice, hefty monkey wrench. Now comes Griff The Invisible, a hero for the indie romance set! here's the skinny...

Ryan Kwanten (True Blood) stars in this charming, quirky and totally unpredictable romantic comedy about the superhero in all of us. Griff (Kwanten), a shy and awkward office worker by day, finds escape from his ordinary life by assuming the identity of a fantastic superhero each night. Griff’s secret is jeopardized when he meets Melody (Maeve Dermody), a cute but unconventional daydreamer. She quickly becomes fascinated by his idiosyncrasies, which are equal only to her own.

In the face of mounting pressure to live in the “real world,” it’s up to Melody to rescue GRIFF THE INVISIBLE for the sake of herself, Griff and their new found love for each other.

True Blood Holiday Commercial

SOOOOOOKIE!! I love the hell out of this commercial and after 2 minutes of strenuous googling, I found it for my cave dwelling friends who do not have cable and have to resort to things like Light Brite and the old laser pen + cat game. This holiday season, remember to think hard about what to get the ones you love but if it leads to carpentry and you aren't generally a carpenter, you should probably put the tools down. MERRY CHRISTMAS SOOOOKIEEEE!! And now..laugh time. Enjoy!

NYCC 2010: Shiny Collectibles

While not every company on the planet graced geekdom with their presence at New York Comic Con this year, there was certainly enough to keep me sweating..especially when you consider the show has yet to learn how to keep a crowd moving so I've practically got PTSD from the ordeal. We decided it would be best to put all the links in one place for your clickifying pleasure, so sit back, relax, and let the joy and longing wash over you simultaneously as you peruse the vast wonders of toys, statues and vinyl art figures across the show floor.

GO HERO / ZICA : with Buck Rogers Mego-like figures and 12 inch wonders including a George Romero figure I'd love to see made!! He's standing next to the little zombie girl from Night of the Living Dead. Awesome 2 pack potential!

TONNER : Makers of amazing dolls that surpass the humdrum name. This year on display you'll see new Harry Potter, DC Comics Stars, Alice in Wonderland, Firefly, Twilight, Lord of the Rings, Tron, Muppets and some original costume designs collectors are sure to freak out over.

SQUARE ENIX : Killer toys never stop coming in from across the water. This year Square Eniz brings us new Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker figures, Assassin's Creed, Bleach, Halo Reach and Final Fantasy XIII

HASBRO : Stealthly hidden within the crowded confines of the Marvel booth, Hasbro brought their super hero all stars into the light with new Super Hero Squad figures and vehicles, a second look at the incoming wave of Marvel Legends 6 inch figures (YAY!), Marvel Universe scaled movie figures for Thor and Captain America, the main Marvel Universe line complete with a super sized Sentinel, super sized Frost Giant & Loki, super sized Goliath and a Giant-Size X-Men 6 figure boxed set!

DC DIRECT / DC UNLIMITED : Putting your displays at the corners of your booth is great...in theory. In reality, I got knocked over more times than Webster at the Million Man March. Never the less, I got the goods. Check out the new True Blood statue, DC Comics action figures and statues, DC Unlimited video game action figures, World of Warcrack..I mean craft and Starcraft figures, the newest Batman action figures, Brightest Day action figures, the hot Ame-Comi Heroine series PVC figures and the newest statues and busts you'll be hunting for.

DARK HORSE : With a fine selection of varied licenses including Domo (that little killer brownie monster who kills kittens when you masturbate), Dexter, Tim Burton, The Peanuts, Bettie Page, Eerie and Disney!

ART TOYS : You'll forgive me lumping this all together, but when you are fighting through the crowd, can't shoot past people that don't get that blocking the whole front of a table for a conversation means no one else can see the artists' work and generally clueless about who has made what to begin with, it is a losing battle. I did see some fantastic things before I had to pull the ejector lever, so I hope you enjoy them as well.
