Toy Fair 2018: LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Preview

Universal Brand Development (Universal) and the LEGO Group announced today the launch of their largest Jurassic World partnership to date, offering an expanded line of construction sets, all-new animated content, and, for the first time ever, a lifestyle collection. In anticipation of the upcoming global theatrical release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in June, Universal is building upon the success of LEGO Jurassic World, with the debut of construction sets that span every LEGO age category, as well as two all-new, animated videos, and a collection of soft lines and publishing to reach audiences beyond the toy aisle.

Toy Fair 2018: Jazwares On Hotel Transylvania

Here's an interesting moment in toy history. When the collective spite of geeks shuns all Adam Sandler movies to the point where next to no one would license an animated movie filled with monsters!! Everyone loves cartoon monsters, right?!! Not even knowing anything about the movie, from a toy standpoint, you'd say it sounds like a slam dunk.... right? Still, the first installment came and went and not one action figure hung, bat-like, from the pegs of toy stores across the globe. Hotel Transylvania 2 surfaced, and out of blind curiosity, me and Pete hit a screening...and it wasn't bad at all! Sadly, the only cartoon monsters to be found were at Burger King. I grabbed 3. Beggars can't be choosers. Now we've got Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation on the way and an animated series on TV as we speak, so it's high time we got some proper toys, with 10000% MORE MAVIS!!! Toy Fair 2018: Schleich Eldrador Creatures

BACK into UK Toy Fair coverage with Schleich, which most people will know as the producers of Smurfs figures for many, many...many years! Soooo many Smurfs. Like...millions of Smurfs. But they also make fairies and dinosaurs and in the last few years, some pretty killer Marvel and DC Comics figures! Schleich have always mixed medieval monsters into these figure lines, but most often reserved those spots for dragons of varying sizes. Toy Fair 2018: The Playstation Totaku Collection

Sometimes, when the rest of the world packs it in and puts all their merchandise on 1 dollar clearance, you gotta say IT'S TIME TO LAUCH!!! It's our time...like the Goonies...and Goonies never say DIE!! Today, Playstation are our favorite Goonies, teaming up with Think Geek for their own line of Gamestop exclusive, interactive video game figures, much like the Skylanders that came before them. Utilizing Sony's rich catalog of iconic video game characters, the Totaku Collection looks to outlast the pack, much like the steadfast Nintendo Amiibo.

We got our first look at this video game teleporting figure line at the Think Geek booth in the upper levels of UK Toy Fair. You'll note the figure packaging states these are "First Edition" figures, perhaps as a gimmick for initial release? No telling if the shipments following will have any discernible differences until they drop.

Toy Fair 2018: JADA Metals Deadpool Taco Truck *UPDATED 1/26

UK Toy Fair has come to a close but we will be roaring along for some time, fueled by the power of  2 adventurous, eagle eyed reporters, their cameras and the hundreds of pictures they produced! We had no idea Think Geek would be set up at UK Toy Fair, but we found them hunkered down on the second level...and inside...magic. This may have been the only new Jada Toys item in the entire building..and if there was more, it was hiding like a Storm Shadow in a snowstorm.

Presenting the Deadpool Taco Truck!! I NEED DIS!!! Though Jada have been pumping out metal figures for a little while now, they are fairly new to vehicles, and to my knowledge, have not dipped into the expansive waters of the Marvel Universe...yet. This looks like the first! Let me be "that guy" and ask for Thanos in his Thanos copter. I would love you guys ...ya know...like...forever.

Toy Fair 2018: Action Man Returns

Back into the ocean of UK Toy Fair images our reporters sent back this week! Jenny Wilson was combing the floor with the same hit list and priority notes Matthew had, yet turned in completely unique and awesome work! I love when that happens. Two people in the same place, seeing the world in a completely different way. Not only that, though, but each seemed to get completely different coverage depending on when they went and who they talked to...and THAT is the mystery of UK Toy Fair! We sent Jenny to AB Gee with the fleeting hope something super new from Mattel would peek out. What we got was the return of a hero!

Manufactured by Art + Science, distributed by A B Gee and licensed by Hasbro, Action Man turns 50 this year and returns with a retro line of collector's edition action figures aimed squarely at UK uber collectors. The initial offering kicks off with an Action Soldier, Scuba Diver, British Infantryman, Paratrooper, Ski Patrol,  Footballer and Bobby Moore (who is the ultimate action hero, after all.)
