Toy Fair 2013 : The Bridge Direct's The Hobbit

Back into Toy Fair 2013 with an update on The Bridge Direct's The Hobbit action figure line! We are one film down and 2 to go...and fans have nooooo idea how they are going to stretch that out. While we'd hoped to glean some insight on that from the toy line....no such luck. That Peter Jackson is a crafty mofo. The Bridge's initial 2013 offerings seem to focus squarely on rounding out their first film, but that doesn't mean they aren't going to get out two waves this year. Perhaps one in the second quarter and one right before the next film's release. No actual word on that, but here's what we do know...

Action figures, playsets, mini collectible figures, roleplay and board games all on the way. PLAYSETS!!! Yaaaay. The Mini collectible figures they mention appear to be those we covered HERE. Looks like they will bring them to the US, so Hobbit fans, get ready to share in the pains of mystery figure hunting. aaaannnd...go.

December 14th. Just a week more. Sure, all your journalist friends have seen it already, but you have the reserve to wait ONE MORE WEEK TO SEE THE FRAKKIN HOBBIT!!!! ~phew~ Ok..got that out of the way.


ONE MORE WEEK TIL THE HOBBIT!!!! In celebration, the Hobbity facebook has released a string of pictures with the cast of ....wait for it......The Hobbit...posing with their teeny, tiny plastic LEGO counterparts. I'm reminded of two awesome things when I look at these photos...

Ooooooooooooh man. If there were one thing I geek out over uncontrollably..and visibly uncontrollably...it would be Lord of the Rings and now...The Hobbit. Come to my place and you can swim through the plastic armies of middle earth you'll find there. Today, the film premieres in Wellington, New Zealand and through the future sorcery of Idle Hands..YOU CAN WATCH!! Well...you can't watch the movie..but you can watch the stars of the movie in various stages of fancy dress. Huzahhh

Celebrate Hobbit Day with a New Hobbit Poster

The adventure follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield.
