From the director of Suicide Squad and End of Watch, David Ayer, comes a new film starring Will Smith, Joel Edgerton, and Noomi Rapace.
Set in an alternate present-day where humans, orcs, elves and fairies have been coexisting since the beginning of time, this action-thriller directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad, End of Watch, writer of Training Day) follows two cops from very different backgrounds. Ward, a human (Will Smith), and Jakoby, an orc (Joel Edgerton), embark on a routine night patrol that will alter the future of their world as they know it. Battling both their own personal differences as well as an onslaught of enemies, they must work together to protect a young female elf and a thought-to-be-forgotten relic, which in the wrong hands could destroy everything.

Batman: The Animated Series Almost Got ’Im Card Game by Cryptozoic
Cryptozoic Entertainment, leading creator of board games, trading cards, and collectibles, and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment, announced the release of the Batman: The Animated Series Almost Got ’Im Card Game. The 5-8 player social deduction game is based on the classic “Almost Got ’Im” episode of Batman: The Animated Series in which Gotham City’s most infamous rogues play poker and tell stories about almost defeating Batman, not knowing one of them is actually Batman in disguise. Players take on the roles of various DC Super-Villains of the Caped Crusader, one of whom is secretly Batman. The action centers around participants gathering the poker cards needed to activate special abilities. The Super-Villain players use their abilities and guile to try and figure out which of them is Batman, while the Batman player tries to defeat the Super-Villains before they discover his or her identity.

Toy Fair 2017: Just Play & Comic Images Get Retro with Nickelodeon
These days, there are a lot of what we call "casual collectors". While these folks may have significant collections, they just sort of wander through a toy show looking for non-specific things that spark the heart bubbles above their heads, taking them back to their childhood where Saturday morning cartoons ruled all. Just as the sellers at toy shows strive to fill their tables with flashbacks, toy companies have caught on and are actively seeking out 80's and 90's properties to transform the retail aisles into way back machines. You'll find Strawberry Shortcake with The Bridge Direct...Madballs with THREE different companies..and now Just Play and Comic Images join in on the fun!

Kaiju Epic Will Eat Your Other Comics
KAIJU EPIC! is the newest title from publisher Big Dog Ink, and a pet project for lead writer, Tom Hutchison. Kaiju Epic! is grounded in the campy, fun-loving genre of the giant monster, such as Godzilla or Gamera, but this particular story also adds a bit of “real” kaiju to the mix, as well as legends of the end of days from around the world. Readers will find monsters they may have heard of, like the Kraken or even Quetzalcoatl, roaming the pages of Kaiju Epic!, but there will also be all-new monsters created just for this series.
Kaiju Epic! will be a 5 volume series each with two separate stories. These stories will take place on opposite ends of the globe and give a real feeling of the end of the world, rather than the destruction of a specific city. Tom is joined by co-writer Kari Castor. Kari is known to BDI fans as one of the writers of the hit mini-series, Shahrazad.
Kaiju Epic! is no standard comic book, either! This is a huge 48 page monster sized comic book!

Toy Fair 2017: Sniffly & Sleep Deprived But Still Uploading!!
So this year I decided to get convention crud BEFORE the actual event...you know..just to be different. I'm also rocking coverage out on a tiny netbook that seems to have the collective brain power of a Speak and Spell, so the processing of images we are gathering every day at Toy Fair 2017 is slooooow going, but it's going! Just a reminder that, for the sake of speed, some categories might go straight to Flickr image galleries, so check there for updates of the awesome plastics you crave.

Toy Fair 2017: Big Chief on Doctor Who
We've seen a lot of new licenses from Big Chief Studios in this year's Toy Fair 2017 coverage, and now we jump back into a property that is, not only well known to Big Chief 6th Scale collectors, but amazingly, profoundly British. DOCTOR WHO!! The future of the Doctor on his BBC TV show seems uncertain, but his toy counterparts will never stop replicating and marching on. Let's catch up with Matt Booker of JediNews at UK Spring Fair 2017 and see how many Doctors you can fit in a camera phone...

Playmate's Voltron: Legendary Defender Brigs Lionbots Home Again
So Playmates rings up and says WE HAVE THE VOLTRON LICENSE!! We want to send you Voltron toys!! Obviously there is YAYing and happy dancing. I make suggestions including "Let me know when that big sucker is coming because i'll need to book a plethora of time to pour over it and table a thousand pictures. Exactly 1 thousand." Then they say they can only send over the basic figures, you are getting 2 of them. ENJOY!! This can be a real bummer, as I am a poor lad and can not afford the fancy massive Voltron gracing store shelves...but then I have a flashback when the toys actually arrive. Remembering being poor little Paul who also couldn't afford the giant Voltron, but managed to save up some squirreled away arcade moneys for what was most likely a bootleg Voltron from the Te-Amo on the corner of 15th and Avenue U. He wasn't a massive, interconnecting robot, but he was mine.

Toy Fair 2017: More McFarlane Previews: Attack on Titan, Destiny, Titanfall 2 & More
Back into Toy Fair 2017 coverage as we are TWO DAYS away from the New York leg of our tour! We previously dove into McFarlane's releases with some early concept art for several of their Color Tops action figures and a fair share of similar art for their Construction lines. Now we take a look at a small pile of action figures just about to hit store shelves as well as a video game line that generated a fair amount of buzz when we first talked about it...

Toy Fair 2017: NECA's "Coming Soon" Products
No matter what part of the planet we are covering around Toy Fair time, we never pass up an excuse to shoot NECA's action figures. To be honest, this crew has so many products coming out these days, all we can do is shoot like mad and hope we hit something new! Such was the case at UK Spring Fair this year as we crept up on a wall of NECA product at a local distributor's booth and fired away. Some of the items are out now, but well worth a second look, and others are almost within your grabby collector grasp...

Toy Fair 2017: Big Chief Studios on Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet
Big Chief takes center stage as our Toy Fair 2017 coverage continues with Matt Booker of JediNews, UK Toy Fair and a topic often visited by folks across the pond. The worlds of Gerry Anderson are hard to forget, populated by puppets with faces ranging from heroic to nightmare fuel. Not surprisingly, my earliest and only recollections of the Anderson's work were flashes of insanity from a TV show called Terrahawks. That show makes the phrase "can not unsee" an understatement. Now Big Chief triggers us all with 12 inch Character Replicas from the always iconic Thunderbirds and the infamous Captain Scarlet.

Toy Fair 2017: Mezco's One:12 Collective on Marvel and DC Comics
Mezco's One:12 Collective 6 inch action figure line is DOMINATING!! No one will ever accuse this company of making glorified MEGO's...not that there's anything wrong with MEGO's, it's just the amount of pain staking detail that goes into ever One:12 release is immediately evident, and gushed over by many a fan when they get their hands on one. Today we jump back into the US leg of our Toy fair 2017 tour with the Ultimate Toy Collector and take a look at all the goodies coming from the Marvel and DC Comic Universes...

Toy Fair 2017: Schleich on Marvel and DC Comics Heroes
When you think of the awesome product produced for your favorite comic books, you may not usually think of Schleich. Schleich makes you think of Smurfs...real talk. And dinosaurs maybe. And fairies attacking castles that cost a pretty penny but you had to have it because that castle was AMAZING. Don't judge. Never the less, Schleich made some noise in the last couple of years with the release of Justice League figures and then Batman V Superman: The Quest for Martha. Now Schleich continues their DC lovefest with further Justice League members, a certain Amazonian movie princess and some fairly obscure characters from the Marvel Universe. Who's this Speederman guy anyway...

Toy Fair 2017: Big Chief Studios on James Bond
In a very short span of time, the 1:6th scale action figure market has gone from a seldom explored art form with 1-2 stand out companies making big noise with their releases, to a fairly massive industry with companies small and large one-upping each other daily, all vying for your action figure loving dollars. UK based Big Chief Studios is one company making such a loud noise, collectors in the states are sitting up and making a note in their bank book with every release. Today, Matt Booker of JediNews gives us a look at Big Chief's new James Bond 12 inch action figure line from their recent appearance at Spring Fair! Get ready to drool...
Big Chief Studios kick off their 1:6th scale James Bond universe with Goldfinger. Initial releases include Sean Connery's James Bond, Oddjob and Auric Goldfinger. All come with a plethora of extra bits; accessories straight from the film and hands... so..many..hands...

Toy Fair 2017: Hasbro's Top Secret Transformers: The Last Knight Toy Lineup
Those that follow Hollywood film projects know that it's not unusual for a production company to give a project a code name as to mask their filming info from prying eyes..and cameras. In recent years, this practice has been creeping every so slightly into the toy world...and today, it seems to be out in full force. We've got a small pile of Transformers: The Last Knight movie toy listings, complete with TOP SEKRET CODE NAMES!!! Intrigue. While it won't help you to begin your drooling over the movie toys, it may give you an idea of how broke you'll be, should they ultimately not be trash. (please don't be trash)

Toy Fair 2017: Hasbro Teases Upcoming Marvel Action Figure Releases *UPDATED: 2/4*
We've been tipped off by Marvelousnews (via Facebook) about a "rumored" batch of Marvel legends listings. We were familiar with the website they named as the source so we did a little digging and found the listings. Since retailers aren't in the habit of listing things for sale that don't exist, we are going to call this one confirmed! Time will tell I suppose, but really, why list if it's not real? They have better things to do. Here's what's on tap, if the website is to be believed...

Teen Titans: The Judas Contract Animated Movie Preview
Justice League Dark hits stores February 7th, on DVD, Blu-ray and in a nifty limited-edition gift set with a mini John Constantine figure included! Hysterically, the figure appears to be smoking something that has been removed. I like to think John would appreciate the comedy. Today, we look past the current release (which is pretty damn awesome) to the next release;
Teen Titans: The Judas Contract!
A little back story... Marv Wolfman and George Perez left Marvel Comics and hopped over to DC and immediately made their mark. The pair elevated the Teen Titans from being mere former sidekicks to starkly human beings with all the trauma, angst and weight that would sit on the shoulders of a young adult with tremendous power and the sense of responsibility to use that power for good. The Judas Contract was seen as the pinnacle of their work so, of course, a natural selection for an incredible animated film.

Josie and the Pussycats Remix "Sugar, Sugar" on TV's Riverdale
Man...this is a tough one. I am one of the thousands of silent voices across the globe who loved the Josie and the Pussycats movie of 2001, and though I was raised on The Decendants, Fugazi and, to a more aggressive degree, Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies and Iron Maiden, I still appreciated the rock and pseudo-pop-punk sounds created for the film. Now Riverdale has come to television, introducing a re-booted Archie and his gang to a new generation, and with them, we must have Josie and the Pussycats....and we had to know they'd get a modern re-boot as well. Not sold on this... at all, but I'm hearing great things about the show and the new girls and their new sound come with it...like it or not. Decide for yourself inside...

Toy Fair 2017: Character Group Stretch Figures for Disney, DC Comics and Doctor Who
Everything old is new again!! Toy Fair 2017 will echo that promise, as Toy Fairs have for years. You can bet anything that triggers a fond memory from the populace at large will always be considered for a re-vamp, re-imagining or just a straight up re-release! With the recent return of Stretch Armstrong (what ever happened to the movie??!!), we can assume toy companies began looking into our beloved stretch-technology to see if there might be a way to improve on the design so that, perhaps, 10 years from now, the modern stretch toys won't disintegrate in our hands (RIP Vacman. I lovded youuu). Now Character Group is showing off a mini army of 7 inch stretching heroes to wrap around the hearts of a new generation. M@ Hawkins brings us the eye candy...

Toy Fair 2017: Character Group on Doctor Who
Continuing our Toy Fair 2017 coverage, we hop back over to M@ Hawkins who had a fairly quick visit with Character Group in search of the newest in Time Lord accessories, weaponry and icons (aka ACTION FIGURES!!) From the look of Character's compact display (which was not bigger on the inside), one might assume the company is winding things down with the license? Maybe we are jumping to conclusions, but it's worth a discussion. Let's take a look at what was on hand and see if our tentative assumption isn't warranted...

Toy Fair 2017: Jazwares on RWBY Action Figures
Back into the Toy Fair 2017 coverage with Axel Manasco in the UK who happened upon our friends at Jazwares who had the usual Minecraft and Tube heroes alongside more Danger Mouse toys, and hidden amidst it all were new action figures for RWBY! The American animated web series heavily influenced by Anime is getting at least three new action figures this year including Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee and Yang Xiao Long. While two of the items on display are mock ups of packaging with paper inserts, Yang is an actual action figure prototype, so you can get an idea of what the articulation will be like...and she appears to be pretty posable!
