SDCC 2017: The Justice League Comic-Con Trailer & The Return of Superman

SDCC 2017 Warner Bros Justice League Comic-Con Trailer
The battle between DC Comics films and Marvel Studios movies rages on. Lately, Warner Bros have been shifting their trailers around, hoping to build on the success of Wonder Woman, oddly, without showing more Wonder Woman in their Justice League trailers.... AND IT'S WORKING...inch by inch. Despite troubles surrounding their next Batman movie release, it's getting to the point where Batman V Superman is just something we don't talk about and the name MARTHA shall not cross the lips of hopeful DC loyalists. Stands to reason WB would want to put out a strong Justice League trailer for Comic-Con...and they did just that!

Six Flags Great Adventure Erects Life Size Hall Of Justice!! ...and There's a Ride In There Too!

Six Flags Great Adventure DC Comics Justice League Battle for Metropolis RideSo i'm sitting in my living room eating Honey Bunches of Oats with no milk because I am me and in my feed pops up the picture to the left. My brain could hardly handle it. It's that building that LOOKS like the Hall of Justice...right? Nope. ...It's a diorama for toys? Nuh uh. It seems my friend Michael Sprouse has a family member who works at 6 Flags in Jackson, New Jersey and he's there...standing in front of this incredible building...probably just soaking it all in like I am.

Turns out the building houses Six Flags' new attraction "Battle For Metropolis"! The "a 4D, interactive, competitive gaming adventure featuring WONDER WOMAN, BATMAN, SUPERMAN and more." The full name of the attraction is JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis, and it opens this Saturday! This all sounds well and good, but the most important question is WHEN CAN WE GET COSPLAYERS IN FRONT OF THIS MASTERPIECE??!!

Toy Fair 2017: Character Group Stretch Figures for Disney, DC Comics and Doctor Who

Toy Fair 2017 Character Group Stretch Figures DC Comics Justice League
Everything old is new again!! Toy Fair 2017 will echo that promise, as Toy Fairs have for years. You can bet anything that triggers a fond memory from the populace at large will always be considered for a re-vamp, re-imagining or just a straight up re-release! With the recent return of Stretch Armstrong (what ever happened to the movie??!!), we can assume toy companies began looking into our beloved stretch-technology to see if there might be a way to improve on the design so that, perhaps, 10 years from now, the modern stretch toys won't disintegrate in our hands (RIP Vacman. I lovded youuu). Now Character Group is showing off a mini army of 7 inch stretching heroes to wrap around the hearts of a new generation. M@ Hawkins brings us the eye candy...

SDCC 2015: Justice League: Gods and Monsters Reviewed

In comics, and more specifically, in the DC Universe, we are often allowed glimpses into alternate realities where our favorite heroes and villains' lives have taken a hard left turn, creating stories very different from the normal "battles in tights" fare. Batman fights Dracula and becomes a creature of the night. Superman is the hero of Mother Russia. When a legendary figure like Bruce Timm is behind the alternate reality, you know you are in for something AWESOME!

Gods and Monsters begins by warping the origin stories, and even the identities, of three core Justice League members; Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Superman is now the biological son of Zod, raised by Mexican immigrants with a far different upbringing than the core character we know well, changing his entire perspective on humanity. Wonder Woman calls herself daughter to those we know as the New Gods. Betrayed and heartbroken, she took her rage to Earth, set on never letting another being hurt her again. Batman is Kurt Langstrom (our Earth's Manbat!), a brilliant scientist living on borrowed time. A cure for his fatal illness leads to a vampire-like transformation giving him super human powers, and a taste for blood. Now all three stride the world like gods, exacting terminal justice with a heavy hand while taking the lead from a government enjoying the power these individuals grant them. With a public at once grateful for their heroes and in fear of the death these creatures bring, it is only a matter of time before humanity must decide if they are willing to pay the price of perceived safety. And if they no longer wish to live under the protection of their "heroes", is there really an alternative?

A Preview of the Justice League: Throne of Atlantis Animated Movie

When a new Warner Bros. DC Comics Animated Feature arrives, it means two things in my home. 1. I'm in for an awesome DC Comics movie with all the anger, blood and violence we'll probably never see in the live action films. 2. It's time for a preview of THE NEXT WARNER BROS. DC COMICS ANIMATED MOVIE!!! Based on comic book story arc written by Geoff Johns, with some liberties and story tweaks (naturally), Throne of Atlantis picks up where Justice League: War ended, as we see the origin story of Aquaman and his introduction to a newly formed Justice League.

A LEGO Batman 3 Trailer

My first realization that comes along with this trailer...is that I totally missed 2. Bad geek. My second is that it's interesting to see the mandate that all designs moving forward be NEW52 style is still in effect across the board...and my third that, like the Batman v Superman film, this may very likely be an unofficial Justice League LEGO video game....and I'm all for it! Dive in below for the trailer!

JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time Reviewed

This one snuck up on us...like some...sneaky DVD release that, for some mysterious reason, no one wanted you to question!! Yeaa...we'll go with that. Was this the beginning of a "Super Friends Power Hour" for a new generation??!! Was this to be the start of a series of direct to DVD releases aimed at a younger audience while we still enjoy our ridiculously (often) morose tales of the DC Universe??!! Welp, I've not done the googling, and I can't recall anyone uncovering the truth behind the stealth release of JLA: Trapped in Time but I'm here to say...they are onto something.

The story begins with the Legion of Doom attempting to grow the polar ice caps resulting in the Earth's water levels lowering, thus creating new land masses owned by Lex Luthor in a stunt that would make the creators of the original Superman movie blush with pride. Without revealing too much, the Justice League shows up to unleash righteous hell upon the Legion (on the ground and in space), causing random chaos that leaves Lex entombed in ice. Flash forward to an odd future where people keep dangerous objects on display for all to poke at....because we are civilized now, god damnit. Long story short, Lex is freed by some rambunctious, would be Legion of Super Heroes members, steals a time portal device, along with it's super creepy captive, and heads for the past where he will rid the world of Superman ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!

Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox Trailer

The world is turned upside down as one of earth’s greatest super heroes – Flash – wakes up devoid of his super powers in the all-new Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox – the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Original Animated Movies. Produced by DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation, this all-new, PG-13 rated film arrives July 30, 2013 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Blu-Ray™ Combo Pack ($24.98 SRP), DVD ($19.98 SRP) and Digital Download. The Blu-ray™ Combo Pack will include UltraViolet™*.

When time travel allows a past wrong to be righted for Flash and his family, the event’s temporal ripples prove disastrous, creating a fractured, alternate reality where the Justice League never formed, and even Superman is nowhere to be found. Amidst a new world being ravaged by a fierce war between Wonder Woman’s Amazons and Aquaman’s Atlanteans, Flash must team with a grittier, more violent Batman and government agent Cyborg to restore the continuity of Flash’s original timeline.
