Millarworld's "Sharkey the Bountyhunter" Coming to Netflix
Netflix and Millarworld announced their third comic book collaboration, SHARKEY THE BOUNTY HUNTER, from writer and creator Mark Millar. Millar has named comic book artist Simone Bianchi to bring SHARKEY to life on the printed page. This is the third Millarworld franchise since Mark Millar joined Netflix on staff, following the best-selling THE MAGIC ORDER and the upcoming PRODIGY, which is set to be released on December 5. SHARKEY THE BOUNTY HUNTER will be available from Image Comics in comic book stores and online on February 20th, 2019.
Set in a brilliant new sci-fi universe, Sharkey is a blue-collar bounty-hunter tracking criminals across the galaxy in his converted, rocket-powered ice-cream truck. Aided and abetted by his ten-year-old partner, he’s out for the biggest bounty of his career. SHARKEY THE BOUNTY HUNTER has been developed as a feature film since last year, with writer Michael Bacall (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, 21 Jump Street) writing the screenplay.

Your New Christmas Tradition: Anna and the Apocalypse
They've finally invented it...a cure for those holiday blues. Just imagine..the constant struggle for cash to pay your bills...the annoying questions from friends and family as to why you've not married and reproduced yet...all your societal responsibilities...gone..in a flash....or rather in a bite! When you think about it, a zombie apocalypse isn't really the worst thing that could happen to us. The creators of Anna and the Apocalypse seem to agree with this theory, and made it Christmassy....and added music!

ABC Picks up Agents of SHIELD for 7th Season
When last I visited with the Son of Coul, he and his merry band of ass kickers had just defeated an evil life model decoy hell bent on creating a virtual reality where HYDRA won and..well..everyone else lost. At least I think that's what was happening. It's been a while. After that, there was some bit where they were in the future in space and everything played like a so-so Syfy Channel ongoing series circa 2013. They had the crummy dystopian fashion sense, the depressing story line and, from week to week, I really couldn't figure out where they were going...so I bailed. Granted...I have a very short attention span. I've yet to make it all the way through the Batman movie where Poison Ivy chews up the screen and Bane looks like he's had a bad reaction to bee stings..like..all over....but maybe that's for the best. At any rate, it seems Agents of SHIELD marches on...and I have some catching up to do. FIRE UP MY NETFLIX!!

Laika's Missing Link
Stop motion animation is one of the few film mediums that continually confounds the viewer. You don't know how many times I was in a press interview with the fine folks from LAIKA who had to explain that just about 99% of what you are seeing is NOT CGI. The hair blowing in the wind...the eye and mouth movement...all stop motion. Now LAIKA returns to bring more magic into our lives with their new feature film, Missing Link!
This April, meet Mr. Link: 8 feet tall, 630 lbs, and covered in fur, but don't let his appearance fool you... he is funny, sweet, and adorably literal, making him the world's most lovable legend at the heart of Missing Link, the globe-trotting family adventure from LAIKA. Tired of living a solitary life in the Pacific Northwest, Mr. Link recruits fearless explorer Sir Lionel Frost to guide him on a journey to find his long-lost relatives in the fabled valley of Shangri-La. Along with adventurer Adelina Fortnight, our fearless trio of explorers encounter more than their fair share of peril as they travel to the far reaches of the world to help their new friend. Through it all, the three learn that sometimes you can find a family in the places you least expect.

Leprechaun Returns December 11th
Be careful what you wish for when Leprechaun Returns arrives on Digital and On Demand December 11 from Lionsgate. The devious and deadly wisecracking Leprechaun that we all know (and love to hate) returns to reclaim his pot of gold from a sorority house property…all while gleefully going on a Leprechaun-style killing spree. Leprechaun Returns stars Linden Porco (TV’s “Channel Zero,” Cult of Chucky) as The Leprechaun with his signature hat and shiny shoes, Taylor Spreitler (Amityville: The Awakening, TV’s “Kevin Can Wait,” TV’s “Casual”), and Mark Holton (Leprechaun, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, A League of Their Own), who returns to the series for the first time since the original 1993 film.
The deadly, wisecracking Leprechaun is back in all his gory glory. When the sorority sisters of the Alpha Upsilon house decide to go green and use an old well as their water source, they unwittingly awaken a pint-sized, green-clad monster. The Leprechaun wants a pot of gold buried near the sorority house, but first he must recover his powers with a killing spree—and only the girls of AU can stop him.
