We gave the merest mention of this line at Toy Fair 2017 via images of the wall outside of the playmates booth...and nothing more! While the toy line was on display (in prototype form), we were not allowed to do any shooting, so the toys would have to remain a mystery...UNTIL TODAY! Thanks to the TTPM Holiday Showcase, we've got pics of the entire first round of toys!
Playmates Toys, the innovative toy company behind the monumental success of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, will act as the global master toy partner for Mysticons, while Nickelodeon serves as the global broadcast partner, including in the U.S. Episodes began airing at the end of August.
"We are delighted at the opportunity to work with Nelvana on this breakthrough new franchise for girls, as well as expand our partnership with Nickelodeon, with whom we are continuing to build on the tremendous success of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", said Thomas Chan, CEO, Playmates Toys. "We look forward to collaborating with all of our partners on Mysticons to develop an innovative toy line that brings the adventure of the series to life."

Joe Lynch's MAYHEM Gets Blood Splattered Poster
Joe Lynch has been a friend to Idle Hands for many, many years now, mostly because our sense of humors are equally fucked up at the best of times, and due to our pseudo-psychotic kinship, I keep an eye out for when he's got a new movie about to drop in a way we, the people's of the muggle world, can see it. NOW IS ONE OF THOSE TIMES.
MAYHEM goes a little something like this:
Derek Cho (Steven Yeun) is having a really bad day. After being unjustly fired from his job, he discovers that the law firm’s building is under quarantine for a mysterious and dangerous virus. Chaos erupts throughout the office as the victims of the disease begin acting out their wildest impulses. Joining forces with a former client (Samara Weaving) who has a grudge of her own, Derek savagely fights tooth and nail to get to the executives on the top floor and settle the score once and for all.

Watch the Full Netflix Punisher Trailer
CHILLS!! A good trailer should illicit them whether you are familiar with the characters or not. For me, growing up a Marvel Comics kid, the chills come often with the release of each new Marvel Studios movie trailer, but not as often with the Netflix trailers (though CAGE was an exception). Now we get a new trailer for the Netflix solo Punisher TV series with Jon Bernthal in the staring role, prepared to kick ass and chew bubble gum...and..ya know...all out of bubblegum...

Dark Horse Books Announces the HELLBOY Omnibus Collection
In 1994, Mike Mignola released the first Hellboy series, Seed of Destruction and introduced the world to the Right Hand of Doom, the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, and one of the most iconic comic book characters—and universes—of all time. For more than 20 years, Mignola and a host of celebrated writers and artists have chronicled the adventures of Hellboy facing his supposed destiny as Beast of the Apocalypse, and explored the mysterious backstories of B.P.R.D. agents including Professor Trevor Bruttenholm and Abe Sapien. Now, for the first time ever, Dark Horse Books will publish Mike Mignola’s award-winning Hellboy stories in chronological order with the HELLBOY OMNIBUS COLLECTION, creating the definitive reading experience for Hellboy fans and an ideal entry point for new readers.

Dead By Daylight Welcomes Leatherface to The Family
The crew at Dead By Daylight have been adding new content to their killer vs survival team game with little fanfare, since it hit the market, save for that one time we played COUNTDOWN TIL MICHAEL MEYERS!! Damn..was that only last year? Seems like a long time ago. I'm aging before your eyes, folks. Based on that Halloween hype, you would think we would have had a pile of creeper teasers leading up to the introduction of Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre...but nope..no party at all.

Your First Look at the 2018 Movie Hellboy
As shooting starts in the UK on the re-booted Hellboy franchise, Directed by Neil Marshall and starring David Harbour (Hellboy), Milla Jovovich (The Blood Queen), Ian McShane (Professor Broom) and others, we assumed we would be patiently waiting for production to wrap before we'd see anything more than a teaser from the set. WE WERE WRONG!
Here's a super jacked up David Harbour as HELLBOY!! Mike Mignola (creator of Hellboy) has stated Hellboy's right hand of doom is NOT CGI... 100% practical with articulated fingers and the potential to kick demon ass.

J.J. Abrams to Write and Direct Star Wars: Episode IX
Guess who's back...back again...with lens flare...and a Death Star... I kid of course, but we aren't kidding about the return of J.J. Abrams to the Star Wars Universe! The man who ushered in the successful return of Star Wars to the big screen is circling around for a final run at the behemoth franchise to close out the new trilogy.
Disney dropped the announcement today:
J.J. Abrams, who launched a new era of Star Wars with The Force Awakens in 2015, is returning to complete the sequel trilogy as writer and director of Star Wars: Episode IX. Abrams will co-write the film with Chris Terrio. Star Wars: Episode IX will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Abrams, Bad Robot, and Lucasfilm.

HASCON 2017: Marvel Legends Continue to Dominate
As expected, Hasbro was not going to waste the opportunity to show off as much new product as possible at their first ever HASCON in Providence, RI. While a full lineup of Black Panther merchandise was absolutely the show stopper, long time Legends fans were lighting the message boards ablaze with talk of new figure reveals and what each character selection means for future waves of action figures. For us at Idle Hands, we read NOTHING into anything Hasbro does these days. It's clear the creatives over there have a wishlist they are running down, including Toy Biz figures in dire need of a Hasbro update, movie and TV stars they can now do justice to with the help of new sculpting technology, and characters they never dreamed they would be allowed to make before as retailer faith in the brand reaches new highs, allowing for waves of characters not weighed down by obligatory inclusions of Captain America, Iron Man and Spider-Man variants. Let's take a look at what Hasbro revealed on the show floor this past weekend...

IT May Change How Hollywood Views Horror
GAME CHANGER!! We've heard this phrase pitched around before, usually by marketing folks pushing their own titles with the hopes and dreams of 1 thousand creatives behind them. A lot of the time, we see little real change in the business model Hollywood feels comfortable with after one of these new titles rocks the Rotten Tomato-Meter. After this weekend, that might not be the case.

HASCON 2017: Hasbro Marvel Black Panther Movie Toys *UPDATED 9/9 @ 10pm
It Has BEGUN!! Hasbro takes a stab at the D23 model by launching their own convention right in their back yard. We didn't know much about the convention as we are still the forsaken Hasbro loving children here at Idle Hands, but one thing we were sure of.. there would be plenty of reveals if Hasbro could help it. It's their first con! How could they not show absolutely everything they are able to show?! We've got our first report from our buddy Michael at @jackowicktoys on Instagram as he was running through the convention hall at breakneck speeds and came across new Black Panther movie toys. Let's take a look...
