Hotel Transylvania 3 Toys Ready For Release

Jazwares Hotel Transylvania 3 Toy Line
We are two weeks out from the release of Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, and with the very recent closing of Toys R Us, we suspect the distribution plans for Jazwares' toy line have been thrown into chaos. This must be extremely frustrating for the mid-sized toy company, having been the first crew to step up and give this license the full toy line it deserves. WHO KNEW ANYONE WOULD BE SAYING THAT ABOUT A MOVIE FEATURING ADAM SANDLER??!! Still, I would buy the hell out of a Happy Gilmore Funko Pop figure line...or better..a Happy plush that curses at his little ball. Heh.

SO...where are the Hotel Transylvania toys??!! They seem to be just about ready to ship, or shipping now (which is more likely the case) with all signs pointed at Walmart for the lions share. I'd be shocked if Target didn't get in on that as well, but we'll see soon enough. For now, we can show you Jazwares in house, finished product images, following up on our UK Toy Fair pics we flashed at you a few months ago. LET'S TAKE A PEEK!!

Toy Fair 2018: Jazwares On Hotel Transylvania

Here's an interesting moment in toy history. When the collective spite of geeks shuns all Adam Sandler movies to the point where next to no one would license an animated movie filled with monsters!! Everyone loves cartoon monsters, right?!! Not even knowing anything about the movie, from a toy standpoint, you'd say it sounds like a slam dunk.... right? Still, the first installment came and went and not one action figure hung, bat-like, from the pegs of toy stores across the globe. Hotel Transylvania 2 surfaced, and out of blind curiosity, me and Pete hit a screening...and it wasn't bad at all! Sadly, the only cartoon monsters to be found were at Burger King. I grabbed 3. Beggars can't be choosers. Now we've got Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation on the way and an animated series on TV as we speak, so it's high time we got some proper toys, with 10000% MORE MAVIS!!! Jazwares answers the call...

Toy Fair 2017: Jazwares on RWBY Action Figures

Toy Fair 2017 Jazwares RWBY Action Figures
Back into the Toy Fair 2017 coverage with Axel Manasco in the UK who happened upon our friends at Jazwares who had the usual Minecraft and Tube heroes alongside more Danger Mouse toys, and hidden amidst it all were new action figures for RWBY! The American animated web series heavily influenced by Anime is getting at least three new action figures this year including Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee and Yang Xiao Long. While two of the items on display are mock ups of packaging with paper inserts, Yang is an actual action figure prototype, so you can get an idea of what the articulation will be like...and she appears to be pretty posable! Dive in for the eye candy...

Toy Fair 2016: Jazwares on Danger Mouse

Retro appeal means big bucks these days. When I go out into the world to sell toys, I notice people love anything that will give them flashbacks...and this is something every toy company knows well! Jazwares hopes to cash in on a newly returned cartoon hero, debuting this year at Toy Fair.

With over 3.6 million viewers in its first six weeks on CBBC, the all-new TV series of Danger Mouse has been a ratings triumph amongst boys aged 4-9. Ready to replicate this on-screen success, Jazwares is set to feed the fan demand for Danger Mouse toys with a range as exciting and action-packed as the series itself!

Designed to propel the humour and fun off the screen and into front rooms across the land, kids of all ages are invited to immerse themselves in the international secret agent’s world when the first line-up of toys arrives in March. There is a fully articulated 10” Danger Mouse figure (RRP £19.99) that comes complete with a removable jet pack and 5 authentic show sayings. As well as a range of collectible 3” figures (RRP £7.99) including Danger Mouse, Penfold, Baron Greenback, Colonel K and Stiletto, each one armed with its own accessory and perfect for re-enacting favourite storylines and episodes!

Jazwares Explores Minecraft

For a game as monumentally huge as Minecraft, it's baffling that there have only been a handful of collectibles on the market to feed your need for 8 bit awesome. Jazwares is about to change all that with everything from plush to papercraft to straight up action figures. Here's the run down...

Since launching in 2009, Minecraft has become one of the most popular and fastest growing video game licenses. Below is just a little bit of history on how an independent game built itself into one of the biggest licenses around.

Minecraft has been available as a downloadable Ap and released on PC and Xbox. A release on the new Xbox One and Playstation 4 is also confirmed. Over 24 million copies have been sold to date. The game has over 56 million registered users, over 7.6 million Youtube video uploads with the most popular viewed 111 million times, over 6.7 million Facebook fans and over 1.5 million Twitter followers. Minecraft is the hottest search term on Google ahead of LEGO, Star Wars and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

A Closer Look at Jazwares World War Z Zombie Figures

Zombies and geeks tend to go together like fat kids and fudge brownies, so it comes as no surprise that Jazwares World War Z line has been one folks have been anticipating since the announcement of their slow, lumbering approach at Toy Fair 2013. With the release of the pre-order images on Entertainment Earth, that anticipation....well...suffice to say it has subsided a bit. Do the actual figures in person redeem the line? Let's find out with a closer look at the Civilian Zombie and the Special Forces Zombie...

Jazwares World War Z Action Figures

When we last talked about World War Z action figures, it was just a list of possible characters sent to retailers for pre-orders...or to gauge interest at Toy Fair time...or for whatever reason companies send out massive lists of product no one is supposed to know about. While at Toy Fair, there was, indeed, a line of WWZ action figures at the Jazwares booth, but it was under wraps and all we could do was pet the curtain. Today, Entertainment Earth launched pre-orders on the eve of the film's release, and after some begging and pleading, we've got some excellent pictures of the initial release.

Toy Fair 2013 : Jazwares Adventure Time & Regular Show Lineups

OK...you've got your zombie fix for the week. NOW we take a dip into Cartoon Network waters. Jazwares blew my mind this year with their Regular Show toy line, exploring nearly every awesome episode's key moment in action figure perfection. Why they don't spend that sort of effort on Adventure Time is beyond me. IT'S ONLY THE MOST POPULAR CARTOON ON THE PLANET!! Have they kicked into high gear this year and given Adventure Time the spectacular toy line it deserves? Let's find out! Here are the lineups. We've omitted the stuff we knew was out already...

Toy Fair 2013 : Jazwares on World War Z

Remember that article where we thought NECA might be the perfect company for a World War Z action figure line? Well it seems someone else had their eyes set on the undead prize. Jazwares made a big noise this year with releases of Nicktoons, Hanna Barbera, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter AND Scribblenauts toy lines...all at once. Though their Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat lines turned up in the Boy's Action Figure isles of Toys R Us, Jazwares must have felt an urge to take a slice of the horror action as well.

This is a 6 inch action figure line...providing yet another scale to your mismatched zombie horde. ~sigh~ You'll note all of NECA and Mezco's zombie action figures are in a 7 inch scale while McFarlane's The Walking Dead line is at 5 inches. Good news for the Marvel Legends and DC Universe Classics collectors though, I suppose.

New Adventure Time Figures On the Way

It is a compulsion. Whenever I am near a Toys R US, I have to go in, even if I don't need anything. If I don't, I regret it the whole rest of the day. I usually make a B line for the action figure isles, but while I start at the bottom and just work isle by isle, Eileen flies in and heads right for the Adventure Time toys. For some time now, she's been looking over the same toys waiting for a sign that new sets are dropping. THAT SIGN HAS COME!!

New pre-orders are popping up around the interwebs showing sets we had only known by name. Sets include...

Jazwares Unleash New Adventure Time & Premiere Mortal Kombat

Jazwares are getting back into the swing of things with Adventure Time, Fanboy & Chum Chum, Mortal Kombat, Sonic, Street Fighter and the last remnants of Robot Chicken action figures on the pegs at Toys R Us as we speak. Now they've got a new wave of Adventure Time goodies landing and a second helping of Mortal Kombat on the way.

First up, we'll show you what Adventure Time toys you can find on the shelves right now. Just found at Toys R Us are new 2 inch pvc figure 2 packs including a Battle Pack with Finn and Jake ready for war, a Gladiator Pack with Jacked Up Finn, Mud Jake and the ghostly Gladiator from the episode Morituri Te Salutamus, and a Wizard Pack with fully powered up Finn and a mustachioed and afro'd Jake. We also spotted the dreaded, ugly as sin "beaver" Jake Football and some splat characters.

Up for pre-orders are new 2 packs including a Food Pack, Pixel Pack and Party Jake and the Party God Pack. We've also got listings for a 5 inch Lumpy Space Princess and Marceline the Vampire Queen. No pics of these items so far.

Jazwares also dropped some advance images on us today for their Mortal Kombat line! Say hello to the 6 inch Reptile action figure and Deluxe Shao Kahn action figure, featuring a hammer accessory for Kahn and removable mask for Reptile. While I do wish these figures were a little more detailed (both paint and sculpt wise), it's nice to see more video game action figures on the pegs.

It's also been announced that Jazwares will be tackling Cartoon Network's OTHER mega popular cartoon series; Regular Show! I sincerely hope all this success will lead to better paint applications, more detail and all around better toys! I'm a massive Adventure Time fan and I've passed on all the toys at retail so far. I hope that tells you something. Make great toys and you'll own my bank account.

Toy Fair 2012 : Jazwares : Adventure Time

If you're anything like me and 1000 or so friends I know who are glued to the TV every time the Adventure Time theme song plays, then you were psyched for toys when Jazwares announced their plans. Since that time we've seen some so-so action figures, poorly painted pvc's, odd, gangly plush and some role play and super sized talking plush worthy of the show. Could it be Jazwares had no idea what they had their hands on and just played it safe & cheap? If their showing at Toy Fair this past week is any indication, they may be getting the picture! Here's a rundown of things on tap...

Single carded pvc figures with a clam shell that won't let the figure roll around in the package anymore were the first of many revelations. Yay. Most characters are ones we've seen in the collector 2 packs. Coming soon are Finn, Ice King, Weapon Jake & Walkman Finn. New "Collector's" 2 figure packs include a Wizard Pack with Uber powered up Finn and Afro & Mustache Jake, a Gladiator Pack with a Brawling Finn, a Ghost Warrior and Mud Jake, and a Battle Pack with Finn swinging a mace (with a knife tied to his ankle) and Jake making a bomb out of his foot. You'll also see a Deluxe Six Pack with Battle Finn, Beemo, Marceline, Finn, Jake and Lumpy Space Princess (all figures previously released in 2 packs).

New Plush include Finn in his sleep wear, Marceline the Vampire Queen, Ice King, Lady Rainicorn, Lumpy Space Princess, Fiona and Cake. We'll also get a larger sized Ice King & Lumpy Space Princess and pillow like, flat plush of Jake and Lumpy Space Princess.

Larger sized action figures for 2012 include Finn in a Jake Suit annnnd...nothing else was on display, BUT, we did see some larger vinyl pieces of the Gut Grinder, Beemo and Ice King. I can definitely see the pluses in doing larger rotocast vinyl, as it could potentially give us the larger monsters for the little pvc figures to fight, so I'm sure you'll share my confusion with Ice King and Beemo as part of that initial lineup. Adding to that confusion, Jazwares is bringing in ANOTHER figure scale with a mini figure line that looks to be the series they are willing to put their energy behind, boasting a wide array of characters specific to episodes we love. Characters on tap are Prince Bubblegum, Fiona, Mr. Cupcake, Peppermint Butler, Princess Bubblegum, Marshall Lee (Marceline's male counterpart), Cinnamon Buns, Cake (the cat) and Ricardio, Ice King's evil heart! These appear to come in 4 packs with packaging that looks like Finn's sword. THAT'S HOW YOU HAVE FUN WITH THIS LINE!! One 4 pack is a "Deluxe Fiona and Cake Pack" with Fiona, Cake, Bubblegum Prince and Marshall Lee while the other is a ZOMBIE related "Deluxe Undead Pack" with a zombie candy corn, zombie ice cream cone, zombie cupcake and zombie Finn! A third 4 pack contains Finn, Princess Bubblegum, Cinnamon Buns and Peppermint Butler.

BUT WAIT! THAT'S NOT ALL!! Jazwares lit a fire under their Adventure Time product development crew and came up with half a dozen fun toys and electronics to drain your wallet quicker than you can say SLAMACOW. Items include a Jake shaped nerfy football, splat toys of Jake and Lumpy Space Princess, Finn and Jake (respectively) headphones and ear buds, cases for the iTouch 4, grow your own Finn and Jake, Finn's hat replica, an MP3 speaker & ear buds set featuring Beemo (!!), a Bucket of Finns (which we suppose is like a barrel of monkeys), a bucket of Jakes, a new sword for Finn with a skull on the hilt and an eye just below the blade, annnnd a Deluxe Bucket of Ooo, which seemed like a game as it stated "Battle the Ice King" on the top.

I love the direction the company is going in with these mini figures! Let's hope they incorporate a Tree House playset, Candy Kingdom Diorama & Ice King's lair as they move forward and give fans all the characters they can handle to fill them up. So long as the quality is there when they hit retail stores, I'll gladly empty my wallet for Jazwares.

SDCC: Adventure Time Exclusive Figures!

Should be no great surprise I love this cartoon. Adventure Time is the most insane show I've watched...probably since Fooly Cooly but its also ridiculously adorable and random all at the same time. Jazwares will be cranking out the plastic babies for our collections, but until that time, we get a sneak preview at San Diego Comic Con!

Fans of Cartoon Network's Adventure Time heading to San Diego Comic-Con this weekend will be able to pick up the first items from the upcoming toyline from Jazwares before they launch at Toys"R"Us next month! The ADVENTURE TIME COLLECTOR PACK FINN AND JAKE two-figure set will be available for sale for a crisp $10 bill at the Entertainment Earth booth (#2343) at this year's annual fanfest. Annnnnnnndddddddd, to sweeten the deal even more, series creator Pendleton Ward will be on hand at the booth for a two hour signing on Saturday from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE) announced a partnership with Jazwares (some weeks back if u were paying attention) to create a full line of toys based on the quirky and loveable characters from the series including Jake the dog, Finn the human, Princess Bubblegum, The Ice King and many others. Available at Toys“R”Us retailers in the U.S. and Canada starting this fall, the Adventure Time toy line will be comprised of a wide range of characters and SKUs sure to satisfy the needs of even the most discerning fans.

As master toy partner for Adventure Time, Jazwares has worked closely with show creators and CNE’s internal design team to capture the unique look and feel of the series and will introduce a line of highly-inspired product in to the toy category later this year. Highlights from the toy line include: 2” collectible figure packs featuring some of the show’s most popular characters, 5” pose-able action figures of Finn, Jake and the Ice King, assorted basic and signature plush – even some that talk, grow-able Finns and Jakes and a 24” role play sword. Put them all together and you have the most outrageous line up of Adventure Time toys that you could ask for.

"Cartoon Network is redefining the animated comedy genre led by shows like Adventure Time that fuse great stories told by characters with heart and an endearing voice," said Pete Yoder, vice president, consumer products North America for CNE. "Partnering with the talented team at Jazwares, we have captured the unique humor that has made Adventure Time so successful and translated it into a toy line that will amuse and engage fans of all ages."

“Jazwares is thrilled to partner with Cartoon Network on the Adventure Time toy line,” said Laura Zebersky, executive vice president of sales for Jazwares. “It has been a great experience working closely with the creators of the show to launch a line that brings the unique and quirky characters of Adventure Time to life.”

In addition to the full toy line launching this fall, fans should stay tuned for a Comic-con exclusive item that will help promote the toy line to the legions of fan boys who descend on San Diego each July.

Adventure Time is produced in partnership with Frederator Studios with Fred Seibert serving as an executive producer. Teeming with imposing mountains, lush green plains, accessible forests, ubiquitous prairies and winding rivers, the Land of Ooo is filled with bizarre characters in need of unique assistance. Whether it’s saving Princess Bubblegum, defeating zombie candy, mocking the “oxy-moronic” Ice King, or rocking out with undead music wiz Marceline the Vampire Queen, with Finn & Jake it’s always Adventure Time.

Since its debut on Cartoon Network in April 2010, the Adventure Time animated series has emerged as a a Cartoon Network fan favorite across both adults and kids. The series’ first season was watched by more than 37 million people according to Nielsen Media Research, and new fans have continued to join on as new episodes from the second season currently air on Cartoon Network on Monday nights at 8:00 p.m. (ET, PT).

UPDATED: Jazwares Jumping Back Into Street Fighter and Megaman

Jazwares returns to the two properties they launched their company with waaaaay back in the day. You might remember, in the beginning, SOTA worked the specialty and comic shop angle with psychotically articulated Street Fighter action figures while Jazwares offered a mass market alternative for a slightly reduced price, sacrificing only a bit of articulation and extra bits. Now License Magazine reports Jazwares have the MASTER license for Street fighter AND Megaman toys. This makes them the overlords for each property. License explains...

The Street Fighter line will include action figures in single and double packs, as well as comic book battle packs. For Mega Man, offerings will include kid and collector action figures. Both ranges will launch in fall 2011.

While I am sincerely happy that someone will be releasing new Street Fighter merchandise, it makes me a little worried. Even though they haven't explored the new 3 and 3 quarter scale across all their lines yet, I think the urge to make the new line in that size for compatibility and monetary reasons may be too strong to pass up. Those of us with old Street Fighter figures would love nothing more than a continuation of that line, in the same scale, but I feel so much time has passed that Jazwares will be looking for a new beginning and to put their stamp of ownership on the entire set with something completely original. With the International Toy Fair just around the corner (this February), we'll find out soon enough.

NOTE: Jazwares has the master TOY license. This does not effect the statue deals with Pop Culture Shock Collectibles or SOTA.

UPDATE: Damn, I hate being right today. We just got the press release from Jazwares.

The spring Street Fighter™ 2011 toy line by Jazwares will include all new 3.75” action figures. Available in single packs, double packs and comic book battle packs, the toys will portray the characters of Street Fighter like no kids or collectors have ever seen before.

Here's the whole release...

Jazwares, Inc., a leader in the consumer products marketplace, has been awarded the toy licenses for Capcom’s Street Fighter® and Mega Man® video game franchises. Under the terms of the agreement, Jazwares will be the master toy licensee for Mega Man. The Street Fighter license is a category-specific agreement that covers only the categories of Boys BS/PVC/Vinyl figures and accessories, 4-inch and under playsets and vehicles.

The Jazwares’ team of design experts have built a reputation for producing true-to-life toys that bring action-figure play to kids and collectors alike. In 2011 they will translate two of the most popular iconic video games into new collections for the fall.

“We are extremely excited to put a new punch in the popular Street Fighter and Mega Man brands with all new action figure collections for the next generation of fans,” said Laura Zebersky, executive vice president sales, Jazwares.

“We’re thrilled to be on board with one of the premiere action figure design teams to help take our iconic characters from the arcade screens right into kids’ and collectors’ homes,” said Joshua Izzo, Director of Licensing of Capcom.

Capcom pioneered the fighting games genre with Street Fighter, one of the most successful fighting franchises in the world, selling over 25 million copies to date. Throughout its twenty-five year history, Street Fighter has continued to develop and successfully reinvent itself in the gaming industry.

The spring Street Fighter™ 2011 toy line by Jazwares will include all new 3.75” action figures. Available in single packs, double packs and comic book battle packs, the toys will portray the characters of Street Fighter like no kids or collectors have ever seen before.

Created by Capcom in 1987, Mega Man is one of the most iconic video game characters in the world and starred in more than 140 different games. Mega Man collectively sold over 29 million copies worldwide. Mega Man® 9 and Mega Man® 10 brought the reputation of the franchise back by recreating the classic game and graphics of the original Nintendo release.

Capcom and Jazwares team up in spring 2011 to combine classic entertainment with an all new line of kid and collector action figures, allowing kids and parents to continue the adventures of Mega Man at home.
