We are neck deep in holiday activities, and true to our nature and our core readership, instead of giving you lengthy lists of generic things you can score with plenty of time before the gift giving season, we prefer showing a number of awesome things you can run out and pick up for your loved ones, or print out a pretty picture of these things and stick it in a card because LIFE IS BUSY AND WE MEAN WELL!! That will be on my grave. I swear it.
Today we take a look at a round of excellent NECA Aliens items in stores now, including a Hicks vs exploded Alien 2 pack and an Alien egg that glows and attempts to launch a face hugger at any passerby. AWESOME.

Who is this for: Die hard fans and fans of the film who can appreciate a little more detail than your typical Alien attack scenario..like..say..an alien being blown to bits with a piece of his skull flying away from its shoulders. WHO WOULDN'T WANT THAT ON THEIR DESK! This is 100%, absolutely a conversation starter and an instant holy grail amid someone's already hefty Aliens action figure collection.
What you should know: If you're looking for a stoic facial expression for Hicks, there is a single packed figure with no helmet. This version is WAY more fun and can only be found in the 2 pack. Also notable, my Alien Warrior could not stand very well, so if you can help it, check the package carefully to assure one without warping to the legs. Still I got mine to stand and I'm told a little heat from a hairdryer will solve the problem..so there's that. Just full disclosure.

What you should know: The sculpt is magnificent and the glow looks beautiful. That said, the face hugger feels a little fragile and mine had a slight split in the tail area that could turn into a break if messed with too much. Also, the egg doesn't so much launch the face hugger as it spits the thing onto the floor unceremoniously. I will mention a smaller, harder figure like a Muscleman will take flight just a bit, convincing me the egg would be a fairly competant paper clip launcher in a pinch.
