NECA's Toony Terrors vs Scooby-Doo: Jason Voorhees Attacks

NECA Toony Terrors Friday the 13th Jason Voorhees Action Figure
From the first moment NECA showed off their new Toony Terrors action figure line, I had only one thought in mind. The iconic killers from our favorite films were so expertly translated into cartoon characters, there was only one gang of monster fighters they could face off against.
THE SCOOBY-DOO GANG!! As luck would have it, Character Toys have just re-released their Scooby action figure line in incredibly affordable 2 packs starring the Scoobies paired with creepy bad guys I did not own yet, all for 6 dollars each. Not a deal I could pass up! With a NECA box of terrors delivered at lightning speed, all that was left was to set the stage, and the Big Kid Toy Store at the New Egypt Flea Market just happened to provide all the supernatural looking settings I needed. SO.. without further gum flapping, here's part one of our photo series in which Velma meets the man behind the mask, Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th!

"Bring the fun of Saturday morning cartoons to your horror collection with these adorable little creeps!

Standing approximately 6 inches tall, the action figure assortment includes Freddy (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Jason (Friday the 13th), Pennywise (IT 1990 miniseries), and Pennywise (IT 2018 movie)."

The articulation varies slightly from figure to figure. Jason includes basic single swivel hips for forward and back motion, swivel shoulders with the right arm pre-posed and set to grasp his machete, swivel wrists and the best surprise, what feels like a ball jointed neck! While the collar gets in the way of the puppy-like head tilt our killer likes to strike when he admires a fresh kill pinned to a tree, he can look down to strike a clumsy camper splayed out at his feet.

Matte paints are used in Jason's simple but effective color palate with clothing tears and neck wrinkles to remind you NECA hasn't forgotten we appreciate sculpted details. As a finishing touch, Jason's Machette features a paint job including reflective light play across the blade, rendered in a complimentary cartoon style that's practically art deco.
