GLITCHERS: A Genre-blending Indie Launching Demo on Steam Next Fest

Imagine fighting side by side with your avatar inside your favorite game! That’s the premise of “Glitchers”, a hack-and-slash that innovates the genre by combining combat with a puzzle mechanic that “hacks” the game to create powerful combos.

In “Glitchers”, you play as Trix, a girl trapped inside her favorite game. Her mission? Survive anomalies, find a legendary armor set, and defeat a frustrated villain determined to turn all warriors—including Trix—into scrap. Add in handsome orcs, striking dwarves, and glitches everywhere, and you’ve got a chaotic, hilarious world where nothing works as it should.

The 2D art’s jagged edges and sharp angles evoke a low-poly world, where Trix—the only organic, rounded figure—stands out like a misfit in her own glitching reality. The soundtrack amplifies this dissonance, fusing electronic beats with medieval melodies, as if a nightclub portal opened in the 14th century. It’s a surreal clash of eras and styles, mirroring the chaos Trix must navigate to survive

Developed with support from Spcine and the São Paulo State Secretariat of Culture, Economy and Creative Industry, “Glitchers” has already made waves at Gamescom Latam, Gamescom Germany, GDC San Francisco, XL Courage and PocketGamer Connects San Francisco 2025, where the game won the Audience Choice Award in the BIG Indie Zone.
