Toy Fair 2015: Mezco One:12 Collective Batman, Judge Dredd & Teasers

New York International Toy Fair 2015 is right around the corner, so Mezco invited all of us geeks to their offices to check out the new plastics, thus putting them first on the battleground on US soil. Smart bunch, those Mezcoians. We braved the bitter...bitter.....holy hell it was cold. WHY IS IT SO COLD??!! Anyways we put on 16 layers and hopped 3 trains to get to Mezco Headquarters for the annual event. Awaiting us beyond the gated checkpoint and barking dogs...was Mike Drake's smiling face...and doughnuts. Perfect morning combo. We've got a lot to cover here, so we figured we'd kick things off with Mezco's beautiful new baby boy for 2015....soooo beautiful you will look upon it and say "It's all full of stars..." and then fall out of your chair, jaw slack, eyes wide...

Mezco's One:12 Collective is turning heads, particularly with collectors who have shunned the retro aesthetic of the Mego style, proclaiming their eternal hatred for figures in cloth outfits. Holding their Dark Knight Batman figures in my hands and pouring over every detail, I can wholeheartedly state... Mezco nailed it. That outfit fits Batman like a glove and doesn't hinder any articulation...which is no small feat as any company who has done soft goods on a toy will attest. In that one box, you'll find killer package art, open hands, closed fists, hands ready to launch Batarangs, a grapling hook, a hand gun to pop into a ankle holster on an alternate boot, a rifle, a closed utility belt, a base and translucent action stand...annnnd the oddest, bendiest contraption you've ever seen, specifically designed to pose JUST his cape! For those who railed "Why 70 bucks??!!"...now you know! Lots of love has gone into making the perfect toy from Frank Miller's ground breaking, game changing comic series. Again...Nailed It. Now that we've got the gushing out of the way, let's take a look at the Mutant Leader figure set to battle Batman later this year...

Mezco reps stated they have rights to the entire DC Comics Universe, as well as the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice movie.

Here's Judge Dredd, also looking most badass. The Mezco crew are doing their best to make the Lawgiver bike a reality!

 

And nestled in the back of their One:12 Collective catalog, a taste of prospective licenses we may see in this format! I'll also point out that if Mezco put all those licenses in this book, then they already have the licenses...so I'll leave it to you to figure out what scales and formats they bought for them! Probably plush...probably Mez-Itz....but if we are wishing..new Space Ghost, Mightor and Herculoids figures would rule!
