Star Wars: Rogue One Toys Surfacing

December 16th is still a bit of a ways off. Usually, toys for a giant blockbuster movie hit 1-2 months prior to the film's premiere, but during that lead up to the dreaded on-shelf date, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!! Today, it happened across the water and came from an anonymous source we love and now call brother. Today...we get a look at some new vehicles from Hasbro's Star Wars: Rogue One toy line!

Say hello to the Tie Striker and Rebel U-Wing Fighter! We are told the Nerf blaster bits come off the vehicles, perhaps due to endless jokes about the Millennium Falcon's "Hot Dog Gun" for the Episode 7 line. Perhaps. Expect these in September when Force Friday arrives once again...

  1. I can tell already that U-wing is going to hold one figure. What a rip-off. The one in the film is obviously a drop-ship capable of carrying and being flown by a handful of people. This was hasbro's opportunity to build a larger, true to scale vehicle that wouldn't be too expensive. They blew it again.

    1. How about you enter into negotiations with LFL and Disney, start your own toy company and do it better!

    2. I feel like it would be easier for Hasbro to just step up, and start releasing the high caliber products they have shown themselves capable of creating in the past. The legacy collection falcon was spectacular, though perhaps a bit spendy for some. The vintage collection Slave 1 was amazing and came at a reasonable price... vintage AT-AT, vintage republic gunship, saga collection imperial shuttle. It's obviously possible. Maybe they should focus more on quality and less on pushing nerf.

    3. Aaron, I recommend you take a closer look at the trailer and then tell us where the hell other people are going to fit in the U-Wing shown.

    4. Aaron's right. It's a troop transport/dropship.

    5. Aaron, I think you're taking children toys way too seriously...calm down.

    6. To be clear I'm referring to the second trailer. You see the vehicle at 38 seconds, then what looks like Jyn and Captain Cassian sitting side by side in a fairly large cockpit. At 1:18 you can see the ship low to the ground and people jumping out of it. Plus the concept art they have shown indicates it's a drop ship. I suppose I can take children's toys a little seriously if I'm a child. That is allowed right? Obviously it's not the end of the world, but I was kind of disappointed with the repainted X-wings and Ties from last year, so I was looking forward to something new. I'm 12. I admit I display more than play anymore, but when I did I liked my group of heroes to go off and have an adventure together. That's kind of hard to do in a ship that carries one figure.

    7. Pete, children toys? I believe most of it were bought by adult collectors. See your nearby toysrus and you can find alot of crappy 5POA toys still unsold because the majority of it's buyers are adult collectors! We demand quality and nothing wrong with it until the 'cheaper black series 3.75 inch' stopped. A piece of advice, if you need to sell all of your products, do win the buyers heart. cheers

  3. Still those dumb rocket launchers kids don't even ask for. Still 5POA crap figures and undersized vehicles. Still that same contempt for collectors.

  4. Rogue one is an adult themed film. Why the hell are they still targeting kids with their toys?

  5. Disney needs to do crazy high marksups in order to get their 4 billion dollar investment back

  9. The "Nerf" element is inexcusable. Just a 'gateway' feature to lure kids into buying the Nerf line. This is because Lucas's hand is no longer on the merchandizing. He refused to allow Kenner to put such 'cheese' in the toy line.

What's worse, thus far the quality of the Disney-era ships are intolerable. Warped and flimsy, the X-wings and TIE fighters disappoint. It is only reasonable to expect future vehicles to be equally disappointing--until Hasbro proves otherwise.

It's going to be a long, drawn out process as Hasbro continues to wean the collectors off the 3.75 line, pushing them to change to another scale. It's hard to give up (or be pushed out of) a hobby one's had for 38 years, cash in hand and no product to buy.

Of all Lucas's questionable decisions, Disney may well prove the worst. At least for me.

    1. I can fully understand that sentiment. I bought 2 figures and 1 vehicle from the huge burst of "new" product released for the last movie. They just aren't making toys for me anymore. I honestly haven't been tempted to buy anything since.

  10. 3.75 is the perfect scale for vehicles. Hasbro has shown well detailed and exemplary products in their previous lines before they reverted to 5 POA buffoonery. I really regret not buying the well made 3.75 when they were still selling the legacy and vintage collections. The Black Series 3.75 is not too shabby but not like the quality we have seen. Yes they are toys, but back a few years ago they were made well. We now have cheap, shameful toys to contend with in the 3.75 line. Hasbro has really disappointed many.
