Coming straight from the sewers, the stable of mutants and villains featured in this summer’s highly anticipated movie “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” arrives on shelves June 25, 2023. Playmates Toys, the headquarters for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures, vehicles, playsets and more, revealed the authentically decorated and detailed classic mutants and villains, just like in the movie.
We got an excellent look at the premiere line of action figures, vehicles and a killer playset at The Play Date from our buddy Gil Mikita right HERE a couple months back. Now we dive into the mutant freaks of the non-turtle variety.
- ● Splinter (voiced in the movie by Jackie Chan). His design just screams GET OFF MY LAWN! I want to recreate scenes from UP with him.
- ● Superfly (voiced in the movie by Ice Cube) Have we abandoned the mega nerdy Baxter Stockman for a funky mutant ready to backhand any jive-talkin sucka? We shall seeee.
- ● Bebop (voiced in the movie by Seth Rogen) Pretty standard interpretation of the classic design. My only other thought is, I really hope he tattooed himself and it's meant to be read as "Mom".
- ● Rocksteady (voiced in the movie by John Cena) OK..little wacky...but still not far from the dim-witted baddie we know and love. More curious to hear how John Cena plays him!
- ● Leatherhead (voiced in the movie by Rose Byrne) I frikken love this design. He just screams backwater redneck. If he yells CHOOT UM!! I'm gonna die.
In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, after years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them. The highly anticipated motion picture from Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon Films and Point Grey Studios, will premiere globally in theaters on August 2, 2023.
I'll wrap this up with some amazing images of kid's masks which promise Halloween will be terrifying. Just imagine any one of these faces staring in your window after dark.
