Brave Werewolf and Darkness-Plagued Forests in New Wartales Expansion

Wartales, the medieval open-world tactical RPG with more than 1MM units sold from developer Shiro Games, introduces an eerie new region corrupted by shadows and werewolves in its latest expansion, The Curse of Rigel, available on PC via Steam on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025. 

Lead the warband into a late-game region, Rigel, home to the dreaded Weald Forest. Wade through the Howling Woods, which hosts an all-new exploration system, but be mindful of how quickly the dark expanse drains the party’s sanity.

Find a safe place to make camp, research ways to enhance the warband’s gear and abilities with the new Science and Experimentation system, and set off to hunt down the intelligent, once-human werewolves ravaging the forest and its inhabitants.

The launch of The Curse of Rigel expansion also adds a new class to the Wartales base game: the Thaumaturge, a scholar hailing from Alazar, expert in fumes and alchemical vapors that can heal the party or damage its enemies.
