Cartoon Network Life-Size Statues Rescued by Mega Fans

Triple C Toys & Collectables Cartoon Network Life Size Statues 001
Having done many a toy show in my lifetime, both as vendor and eager hunter, you get to hear countless stories of the biggest scores people have stumbled across. From the backs of rusted-over barns to the front window of a mom and pop drug store, or even sitting out in the sun for a Saturday garage sale wedged between unloved Beanie Babies...those hotly pursued "holy grails" of the toy world are still out there, and you never know where one will turn up next. I once popped into my local Good Will on a Saturday afternoon, aisles overflowing with resellers, and spotted a Jurassic Park green TRex, just sitting on a shelf minding its own business. I grabbed it. Then I saw a brown TRex next to it. I grabbed that one. Now confused, I looked around in disbelief, half expecting prank show cameras in the distance. All I saw was another brown TRex at my feet. With the three dinosaurs falling out of my arms, I half sprinted to the front of the store for a cart, thinking, "If there are three big JP Dinos just sitting on the shelf among all these hunters, there must be more from a collection...somewhere!!" Sure enough, the nearest carts staged for refills contained bag after bag of baby dinos, humans, and an army of raptors. 40 bucks for 400 dollars worth of Jurassic Park vintage goodness. That's just one story. The one coming out of  Tennessee is 10 times more epic.

Like a lot of us, the brothers who run Triple C Toys and Collectables packed their brains with the finest animations Cartoon Network had to offer. Unlike a lot of us, they were blessed with a visit to Adult Swim Headquarters as kids, making memories that would stay with them forever. Flash forward...say...a bunch of years, and the brothers, along with their father, express their love for every childhood obsession and pop culture icons by hooking super collectors up with items you don't see every day. They know this business is about always being in the right place at the right time with the knowledge you've earned and a healthy splash of luck. This would prove to be one of those moments where everything fell into place perfectly.

The morning scan of Facebook Marketplace becomes a ritual when you know those amazing scores are out there just waiting for you. This particular morning, the advert read "Cartoon Network cartoon character, Life-size", and the picture featured familiar friends staring back across the internet. Friends they had met at the Adult Swim Headquarters long, long ago. Our new friend from Triple C Toys and Collectables tells us, "I honestly thought I had no chance in getting them. It had been posted for 30 or so minutes. (The seller) said he chose me because, out of the 350+ messages he received, I was the only one to offer on the entire lot (5 of them) in the listing. Later, to find out via phone call the next day, he had Bloo, Billy, and Flapjack as well. When me and my brother went to get them, we instantly felt overwhelmed. It was our entire childhood and 2 of our personal collecting grails we screenshotted years ago from the HQ in Atlanta. Bloo with paddle and Jake Spidermonkey. The other part was feeling dread of how to get them physically out of the barn loft without breaking them...then hauling them home without them breaking." After three hours of loading, their treasure was secured, and the brothers returned home...with 1,700 messages waiting for them, all begging for a piece of the prize.

Here is their haul:
