A Tale of Three Trash Fires

Skull Graffiti Dumpster Fire Vinyl Figure by 100soft
Welcome to America, where the state of being on an average day can be expressed succinctly in a cartoon of a happy little dumpster with flames erupting from its "head". This is how we cope. We take our struggles and make our pain adorable. This image resonates with so many humans, it's been recast and painted over hundreds of times to date. Today, we'll look at three of these memes made real through the medium of vinyl art toys, courtesy of Tenacious Toys.

THE BATMAN: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack 3XLP

Mondo THE BATMAN Original Motion Picture Soundtrack 3XLP 01

This week, we are excited to continue our ongoing DC soundtrack series with one of the most anticipated scores of the year: Michael Giacchino's masterful new score to THE BATMAN. Nearly two hours of music, in which Giacchino flexes his prowess - after decades and nearly two dozen takes on the character and the music of his world, it should be impossible to tackle the world's greatest detective with something fresh and iconic. But here we stand, and the soundtrack to THE BATMAN is as essential as the film itself.

Mickey Rules You

How come only the Japanese can make awesome Mikey items? I'm no huge Disney fan, but if all the characters were done like these, I'd be tempted ...often.

Allmost a Thriller

Now that poor Michael is gone, it seems his estate will sell the license to just about anyone. Enter Marusan, makers of model kits and these little vinyl collectible Michael Jackson figures that appear to have been resurrected from the 80's. These two are (obviously) based on the 2 pivotal moments in the legendary "Thriller" video, complete with soft vinyl masks to turn them into bobble head looking horrors. They "might" around 10 inches, but it's hard to tell as all sites with info are in Japanese. The release date is set for the tail end of January, 2010, so keep an eye out if you are interested. Now, while I am a fan of retro feeling toys, is it too much to ask for some definitive MJ Thriller action figures?? Transforming Mikes in both of these outfits would be awesome and a must buy for most hardcore collectors, so why all the vinyl, cartoony pieces? Yes, I've seen the awesome 12 inch figure as well, but it's not the same. GIVE ME PLASTIC!!!
