Cap'n Crunch's Late Night Talk Show

....I couldn't be more serious.

Cap'n Crunch is dropping anchor after years at sea in order to explore new horizons -- specifically, the launch of an all new, late-night talk show online. "The Cap'n Crunch Show," an animated series of webisodes aimed at adults, debuted its teaser today (click here to view) with nine future episodes set to air every other Tuesday throughout the spring and summer on YouTube at 11:35 p.m. EDT.

In addition to interesting guests, "The Cap'n Crunch Show" will include topical banter, comedy sketches and the Cap'n's trusty sidekick, Sea Dog. A giant bowl of cereal will serve as the show's set aboard the S.S. Guppy, and given the Cap'n's rusty social skills, awkward and entertaining moments are to be expected.

The show is a bold comeback for Cap'n Horatio Magellan Crunch (??!!), an iconic figure who starred in commercials that were a mainstay during Saturday morning cartoons from the 1960s to the 1980s.

After a swirl of vicious rumors suggesting that he was setting sail into retirement circa 2011, the Cap'n took to social media (including Facebook and Twitter) to ensure that his fans knew he was here to stay, a move that further prepared him for his new online show and increased his social savvy.

"I loved learning how to use new technology," said Crunch. "Now, I'm ready for the spotlight and I'm excited to interact with my fans and new friends in a whole new way. As the youths are saying these days -- YOLO."

"The Cap'n Crunch Show" is produced by global digital agency Huge, in partnership with Gifted Youth, the commercial production division of Funny or Die.

So yea....that happened.
