More Pictures From Star Wars Episode 7 Set! Millennium Falcon and X-Wing Fighters Spotted

Following up yesterday morning's story where TMZ nabbed the first un-official set pictures of a desert landscape, the robed peoples who dwell there and a giant, content looking pig monster, we bring you MYSTERIOUS CONSTRUCTION!!! Also from TMZ (click for more!)...Which was not so mysterious considering any 6 year old already hooked on Star Wars could make out the unmistakable frame of Han Solo's Millennium Falcon and the sleek lines of an X-Wing Fighter! This brings further proof of my previous assertion that these photos are leaked accidentally on purpose, if you get my meaning.

Pictures Surface from the Set of Star Wars Episode 7

Normally, Lucas would have a complete lock down on any image even sketched on his Star Wars sets. Those days, it seems, are OVER as over 40 candid pics, obviously shot out in the open, made their way to TMZ and on into the hearts and minds of hopeful Warsnerdz everywhere. We've taken a look and while the pics don't reveal anything save for costumes and a creature you'll probably see in a shot for three seconds, they do give you a sense of the color pallet and design aesthetic...which is unmistakable Star Wars 100%...and that should be good news! It also might explain how over 40 pictures escaped a set with such high security, as the images go a long way to calm any folks freaking out that the people in charge might deviate wildly from the core look of the films to create something completely original that THEY think a wider audience will enjoy...but ultimately won't resemble Star Wars at all.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 6 Trailer

There's nothing super fans hate more than dangling plot lines left unresolved. When the word came down that the Clone Wars cartoon world be coming to an abrupt end, the howls of injustice could be heard across the globe. These mournful fans would soon find a champion in Netflix, who promised to deliver a final season and wrap things up all tidy-like. Will this 6th season live up to the now gargantuan expectations of a rabid Star Wars fan base? Probably not....but they'll give it a shot!

LucasFilm & Dark Horse Announce The Star Wars

Dark Horse is honored to announce a dream project: working with J.W. Rinzler, executive editor at LucasBooks, and artist Mike Mayhew (Avengers) to adapt the rough-draft original screenplay which spawned the biggest franchise in film history!

Three years before his 1977 film, George Lucas put down on paper his first story set in a galaxy far, far away—a tale of fantastic adventures, daring escapes, “lazer swords,” romance, and monsters. A story of Jedi Annikin Starkiller and General Luke Skywalker, an alien named Han Solo, and evil Sith Knights. The screenplay was titled The Star Wars!

“I’m not sure where I first read about The Star Wars—it was years and years ago—but the idea of Luke Skywalker being an older Jedi General, and Han Solo being a six-foot-tall lizard, turned my Star Wars fan brain on its side,” said longtime Star Wars editor Randy Stradley. “I always assumed this would be one of those stories that would be ‘lost to history,’ so getting to work on bringing it to life is kinda like a dream come true.”

J.J. Abrams to Direct Star Wars: Episode VII

J.J. Abrams will direct Star Wars: Episode VII, the first of a new series of Star Wars films to come from Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy. Abrams will be directing and Academy Award-winning writer Michael Arndt will write the screenplay.

“It’s very exciting to have J.J. aboard leading the charge as we set off to make a new Star Wars movie,” said Kennedy. “J.J. is the perfect director to helm this. Beyond having such great instincts as a filmmaker, he has an intuitive understanding of this franchise. He understands the essence of the Star Wars experience, and will bring that talent to create an unforgettable motion picture.”
