MEGO Reveals Rick and Morty Action Figures

Die-hard collectors of specific lines tend to watch retailer listings at all times. When listings pop up for pre-orders but have yet to add images, this is where we sit...and wait...forever. Or until the pics pop up! Such is the case with MEGO's new Rick and Morty action figures listings, alongside a second wave of Killer Klowns from Outer Space. So we sat. And we waited. And today, MEGO dropped the reveal...

MEGO action figure releases show no signs of slowing down, and lucky for us, that includes a whole lot of horror deep cuts! In a collectibles world that regularly celebrates the life work of Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Michael Myers, it's damn refreshing to see Hammer Horror fiends and classic movie monster weirdoes hanging on the pegs in Walmart...and we have MEGO to thank for that. Now our friends welcome you to a new nightmare with Alice Cooper and demand a father's day cake for a crusty gentleman from Creepshow!

SDCC 2018: MEGO Reveals First Wave of Figures

Mego Corporation is revealing its first wave of Mego action figures, which will be available exclusively at Target this August. Fans visiting San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend were greeted by Marty Abrams and Joe Namath. Marty was on hand to unveil the first wave of figures, and give Comic-Con guests a unique opportunity to purchase a limited number of the new action figures before they launch at Target. All items were signed by Marty Abrams and Joe Namath.

Bif Bang Pow Roll Out More LOST Figures

Now, your first impulse is going to be to spit your drink out when you see these, at which point I will direct your attention to the big writing on the bottom of each pic that says PROTOTYPES..as in these figures are far from done..and from the look of them, they've got a long way to go before completion. Next I'll direct your attention to the Venture Brothers MEGO style figures and point out how..not so good..those looked at the beginning. Bif Bang Pow doesn't churn out drek, so they went back to the artists and sure enough, these things are now a slice of fried gold. SO..chorttle all you like, but I assure you, the finished products will be miles better than these...somewhat awkward prototypes I wish they hadn't shown in the first place. AND NOW..without further fanfare and fireworks..we present the newest members of the LOST MEGO-esque figure line coming March 2011! The lineup includes...

SDCC Exclusives: More Mattel with Avatar, WWE, Toy Story 3 and Real Ghostbusters

San Diego Comic Con is completely sold out..and oh so close. Those attending will be regulating their geekiness hourly as not to fall into spasms every time they see a hot girl in a Slave Leia outfit. It's a real worry...at least for me. G4: Attack of the Show's Blair Butler went all sneaksy hobitses and got a peek at all of Mattel's San Diego Comic Con exclusives. Round 1 (seen HERE) included Masters of the Universe Classics Orko and Prince Adam, DC Universe Classics Plastic Man, Infinite Heroes Brave and the Bold Justice League of America VS Starro and Molarr vs Skeletor. Now for Round 2!

The Final Battle: Avatar Jake Sully Vs Colonel Miles Quaritch - Comes in a diorama package with Jake leaping into the final battle against one ticked off marine who knows how to handle a bad ass exo suit. This pack features a new Jake head, all new decos and new accessories.

The Real Ghostbusters Retro Action Figure - EMCE, the masters of MEGO lend their talents beyond the world of DC for a visit to cartoon land. This figure features Peter Venkman in his "Citizen Ghost" episode outfit; the one episode where the crew wore their movie outfits.


From Toy Story 3 comes Lots-O-Huggin' Bear (aka Lotso) which appears to be flocked AND scented with strawberry goodness. Kids...don't eat him. His little cane is attached to his hand, as you can see in the pics.





Last, we get a look at The Undertaker in a highly requested outfit which he wore when fighting the Big Boss Man at Wrestlemania 15. You might think it odd that JAKKS never took the WWE madness to San Diego Comic Con, but maybe they didn't want the kind of backlash that will inevitably come with offering a brand new figure of the Undertaker exclusively at SDCC?! LOST MEGO Styled Figures Revealed

Announced mere days ago RIGHT HERE, Bif Bang pow figures they'll skip the foreplay and NOT wait for Toy Fair (which is only one week away) and instead, will unleash the goods on their partner retail site, Entertainment Earth. Odd move! Here's the goods..

Lost 8-Inch Action Figures Series 1:

Each fan-favorite character stands 8-inches tall in a retro action figure style. With fabric clothing and multiple points of articulation.

Series 1 includes Ben Linus and Kate Austen. Coming August 2010.

Lost 8-Inch Action Figures Series 2:

Retro versions of sweet and lovable Hugo "Hurley" Reyes dressed in his mental institution garb, plus John Locke in his island attire with a knife accessory. Coming August 2010.



Very odd choices of attire for Ben and Hugo, don't you think? I hope the gamble pays off!

DC Retro-Action Figures Series 1

For those of you that don't watch the toy world closely, EMCE Toys has been reviving the lost art of MEGO! Those 8 inch action figures with cloth outfits from the earliest days of our youth are returning, orchestrated by the same band that started it all and production handled with loving care by real fans of the original line. So far, Star Trek and Planet of the Apes made a come back, utilizing the original sculpts but advancing the technology with better bodies and more durable materials. Then came 2 pieces from Night of the Living Dead, the first new property to be created in the classic MEGO style in many years. Now EMCE joins up with Mattel for a little DC action! Matty has already released Green Arrow through their collector club, so that means he's long gone, but series 1 is set to hit in March and the whole planet should be able to get in on the fun.
