Disney XD Readies Final Episodes of Star Wars Rebels

The beginning of the end starts MONDAY, FEB. 19 (9:00 p.m. EST) when the critically-acclaimed animated series "Star Wars Rebels" returns to Disney XD with new episodes as the series nears its grand finale.  The final episodes will unfold over three weeks, with two back-to-back episodes premiering every Monday night on Disney XD, until its epic 90-minute conclusion on MONDAY, MARCH 5 (8:30 p.m. EST).

Dive Into Scrooge McDuck's Money Bin Once More!!

Fans living out their childhood dreams were once given the opportunity to dive into Scrooge McDuck's money bin, just like in the Disney Afternoon cartoon series Duck Tales, via Capcom, who were promoting their video game release. Now, Disney celebrates the re-boot of the mega popular cartoon series with a return of the experience that is still, most likely, warm and fuzzy in the hearts of thousands of convention goers.

The New DuckTales Cartoon Is Weird... and AWESOME

The last we heard from Disney XD's DuckTales reboot, we got to sing along with the cast and realize we still knew every word to the super catchy theme song. Also, the 10th Doctor was involved...so all was right with the world. Now we get a look at the very modern art style used in this new cartoon series, and get re-acquainted with Donald Duck and his nephews as well as Scrooge McDuck, Webby and Launchpad McQuack. ...It never occurred to me there were so many Scottish ducks in this cartoon...

Ducktales Reboot Voice Cast Includes a Doctor, a Gooch & a B-Boy Skeleton

Top-billed actors will bring the beloved characters of McDuck Manor to life in the all-new animated comedy series "DuckTales," premiering in Summer 2017 on Disney XD channels around the world. Leading the quack pack on globe-trotting adventures are David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck; Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz and Bobby Moynihan as the voices of mischief-making Huey, Dewey and Louie, respectively; Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack; Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley; and Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack. The cast was revealed today in a video of the actors singing a rendition of the original "DuckTales" theme song. Dive in for the musics!!

Big Hero 6 Returns with Original Cast

Disney XD's upcoming animated series "Big Hero 6," based on Walt Disney Animation Studios' Academy Award-winning feature film inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, will reunite much of the original cast for its 2017 debut. Reprising their roles are: Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass; Jamie Chung as no-nonsense, speed genius Go Go; Scott Adsit as huggable robot Baymax; Alan Tudyk as tech guru Alistair Krei; Ryan Potter as tech genius Hiro; Genesis Rodriguez as quirky scientist Honey Lemon; David Shaughnessy as the butler Heathcliff; and Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee as Fred's dad.

Al Yankovic's Milo Murphy’s Law on Disney XD

Legendary satirist and Grammy Award-winning recording artist Al Yankovic (professionally known as "Weird Al") voices the title role in "Milo Murphy's Law," a new animated adventure comedy series debuting MONDAY, OCTOBER 3 (8:00 p.m. EDT), on Disney XD. From creators and executive producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh of the Emmy Award-winning animated series "Phineas and Ferb," the series follows 13-year-old Milo Murphy, the fictional great-great-great-great grandson of the Murphy's Law namesake. Milo is the personification of Murphy's Law, where anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

Big Hero 6 Animated TV Series Coming in 2017

Back in August, Idle Hands dug up some pre-order images for a whole new wave of Big Hero 6 action figures, suggesting the heroes of San Fransokyo would be returning in the not-so-distant future! When we bugged Bandai for more information...we got tight lips...but with a wink. It's still not clear if the stealth repaint versions of the Big Hero 6 crew were made specifically for a new TV project...or if Bandai was just asked by foreign retailers to refresh the line in the simplest way possible...but we now know there is a new show on the horizon... albeit a horizon we won't get to until 2017...

Spider-Man and The Avengers Return to Disney XD

Spider-Man recruits a new team and the Avengers reunite to face-off against their greatest adversaries yet in action-packed new seasons on Disney XD. "Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man Vs. The Sinister 6" returns for a fourth season with a special one-hour premiere on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 21 (9:00 a.m. EST) while the third season of "Marvel's Avengers: Ultron Revolution" premieres on SUNDAY, MARCH 13 (8:30 a.m. EST).

In season four of "Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man Vs. The Sinister 6," Peter Parker finds himself in prime position – he's a successful hero after fighting alongside The Avengers, a S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy leader and has a great relationship with his Aunt May. However, when Spidey discovers that his greatest enemies – Doctor Octopus, Hydra and the all-new Sinister 6 – have teamed up to destroy him and S.H.I.E.L.D., he creates a special new team of Spiders, including Miles Morales, Agent Venom, Iron Spider and the mysterious new Scarlet Spider. Spider-Man and his new friends will need to wield all of their power to overcome their greatest challenge yet.

Toy Fair 2016: Hasbro's Ultimate Spider-Man Vs The Sinister Six *UPDATED!*

Sometime in 2016, the Ultimate Spider-Man animated TV series returns to Disney XD, morphing into Spider-Man Vs. The Sinister Six. From advance art we saw on the walls of the Marvel booth at New York Comic Con, we know that Spider-Man will go up against Doc Ock, Rhino, Kraven the Hunter, Electro, Lizard and Green Goblin. Now we get a look at the new toy line and see who's on team Spidey!

The Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble cartoons have been neck deep in hardcore comic book storylines...kiddified to an extent..and re-written just for the hell of it, of course. We've visited plenty of those comic Spider-Verse characters over the last year, and you'll be pleased to hear a small selection will be sticking around to join the fight.

Gravity Falls One-Hour Show Finale February 15 on Disney XD

Disney's Emmy Award-winning animated series "Gravity Falls" reaches its final showdown in the highly anticipated one-hour finale episode on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15 (7:00 p.m. EST) on Disney XD. In the episode titled "Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back The Falls," Ford discovers Bill's true motives and then a final confrontation with Bill leads to the Pines family's ultimate fate and greatest sacrifice. Starring Jason Ritter ("Parenthood") as Dipper and Kristen Schaal ("The Last Man on Earth") as Mabel, the animated adventure-comedy series was created and is executive-produced by Alex Hirsch. The series will continue to be presented daily on Disney XD and Disney Channels around the world.

Marvel's Avengers Assemble: Thanos Claims the Infinity Gauntlet

We don't cover this show very often because, honestly, it's more fun to shout about the highlights...and Thanos taking possession of The Infinity Gauntlet is absolutely a highlight! Avid Marvel Movie-goers will have to wait years to see this path come to its destructive end as the mad titan who would court Death gathers the ultimate power in the universe, but those of you with Disney XD on your Cable lineup can get an animated preview of this epic fight this weekend!

The Spiderverse Comes to the Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors Cartoon Series

DUCKTALES RETURNS!!

How do we know this is big news for Idle Hands readers? Maybe it was the insane level of excitement we witnessed when we reported the creators of the remastered video game were touring conventions with a giant money pit you could dive into? Subtle hint. An all-new "DuckTales," an animated comedy series based on the Emmy Award-winning series treasured by a generation of viewers, has been ordered for launch in 2017 on Disney XD channels around the world. Set to be produced by Disney Television Animation, the new series will again star Disney's enduringly popular characters: Scrooge McDuck, his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, and Donald Duck. The announcement was made today by Marc Buhaj, Senior Vice President, Programming and General Manager, Disney XD.

Buhaj said, "DuckTales' has a special place in Disney's TV animation history; it drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks' comic books, and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults. Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation."

Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors Clip - Agent Venom Arrives

Disney XD has been doing a fantastic job of filtering the entire Marvel Universe into their Marvel Comics animated TV shows, right alongside Marvel Comics proper who always look for cross over potential to build a wider story..and audience! This weekend, Agent Venom arrives to take that cross over potential even further. ....crossing my fingers for a Thunderbolts story of course!!!

Freddie Prinze Jr. ecstatically shared his enthusiasm for joining a world he's loved so much. He shared with press his joy at fulfilling a childhood dream, "It's something that anyone my age has gone through. I jumped off my roof when I was ten because I was certain the force would stop me. I'm going to assume Hulk bumbles into The Save Land where a pack of Dragon-babies accept him as their mother....but one sees something horrible....around Hulk's green back side!!  Dun dun dun duuuun. Yes, childish, but the world is cruel and I have to find happiness where ever I can. LOOK AT HIS TERRIFIED LITTLE EYES!! This can not be unseen.
