China, IL Season 3 Starts This Sunday! Reviews.. and.. stuff

Class is officially back in session at the University of China, IL, the worst college in America. China, IL will return in April with more laughs, more absurd situations and a less education than ever! In its third season, the faculty will continue to provide absolutely no instructive growth for the University’s students, thus prolonging both graduation and our delight in the chance to drink in the all-new half-hour episodes debuting on Sunday, April 5th at 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Adult Swim.

The animated series is about history professors and brothers, Frank and Steve Smith, their TA Pony Merks, and a giant man-child named Baby Cakes, who may or may not even be a student at the school.
China, IL season three stars voice talent including Brad Neely, Greta Gerwig, Golden Globe® Award winner Jeffrey Tambor, Hulk Hogan, Hannibal Buress, Chelsea Peretti, Donald Glover, Gary Anthony Williams, Tommy Blacha, Christian Slater, Danny Trejo, Ike Barenholtz, Bob Balaban, Cat Power, Paul Scheer, Brooke Hogan, Dave Coulier, Zach Pearlman, Justina Machada, Andy Richter, Ryan Flynn, and Jason Walden.

In the third installment of China, IL, watch as Baby Cakes struggles with his identity; humanities fate rests on Pony; a murder of crows are hired as professors; Frank's anus becomes a popular stand-up comedian; Frank, Steve, Pony, and Baby Cakes become life coaches for one another in order to not be like Chris Brown; and Donald Trump's son enrolls at UCI.  We will also finally meet Baby Cakes’ mom, and Steve and Frank’s parents, as well as be treated to a special hour-long musical episode where Baby Cakes demands that he get a magical pet, like all other Disney Princesses.

So...the question on everyone's mind...does season 3 live up to our expectations of complete insanity? In short...yes.

In "A Gentlemen's Bet", Frank and Steve place high stakes on their ability to create a love connection between two students they've chosen for each other. The result? Super creepy moments, madness and the inevitable bloodshed. Meanwhile, Pony, Babycakes and some teachers are charged with solving the nations overpopulation problem. Will they come up with a sensible plan of action before Pony transforms into a she-beast??!! This episode is wrong in all the right ways...and wrong in some very wrong ways as well. Bad, bad Adult Swim. The bet portions of this episode are stronger than the Babycakes moments, which is generally the norm for my tastes. That dude just frustrates me.

Next week's episode is titled "Best Face Forward" and is...just fucking nuts. To the point where it might hurt your head. Frank attempts stand-up comedy and discovers his ass has more talent than he does....which upon further reflection can take on a double meaning for SO MUCH of the stand-up comedy community. The episode devolves into a spoof on "The Exorcist" and by the finale, I was indeed laughing, but I couldn't tell if it was because the whole thing was generally funny or I had been driven insane. I'm better now...I promise. The premise itself and the way it is revealed was absolutely hysterical though. There is just always a part of the episode where I feel my mind is breaking loose of its housing. It's an interesting sensation.

Tune in SUNDAY April 5th as season 3 of China, IL kicks off!
