We Thank You For Feeding Our Monkeys

Idle Hands was born from the ashes of hardcore toy news site, struck down before its time under the most ridiculous of circumstances. We always believed that all manner of pop culture news could co-exist on a front page together, providing a "Water Cooler Geek" feel. On any given day, we'll be discussing new video games, movies (both large and indie), books, comic books, toys, conventions and anything that triggers flash-backs in our cartoon loving, 80's idealizing brains.

Current Stats: As of 1/3/2023
8.5 Million Pageviews (all time)
12 Million Views on Youtube with 15.9k subscribers. Our top vid has over 1 million views
33 Million views on Flickr Galleries

Our ever-evolving crew lineup currently includes...

Paul "Nomad" Nicholasi - New York Area Operations/ Editor :
20-year toy industry veteran and eggshell blue belt in Gymkata, Paul was once described as a "robot who runs on alcohol" due to his ability to run a booth at a huge convention, being the first one on the floor in the morning and the last one off at night, then into 3 parties before getting some articles written up and mayyyybe a bit of sleep. As a partner on, he put twelve years of San Diego Comic-Con under his belt...which pretty much has him ready to handle anything...including powerful mid-Saturday barnyard convention smells.
Super Powers: Once shot 10 thousand pictures at SDCC. Puts out street lights while lamenting why Hasbro doesn't love him. Is sometimes invisible to automatic doors and faucets. Has an uncanny ability to run into Jhonen Vasquez and Stan Lee at any given time.
Interests: Marvel and DC Comics, Toy Hunting, Indie Movies, Pizza and Ice Cream. Oh and Samurai Pizza Cats. That just makes sense.

Matthew Hawkins - UK Operations East/ Photographer: Of Course Collectables and Geeks of Watford
Matthew strides both sides of the fence, as a lifelong toy enthusiast and is now living the dream as a toy shop owner of Geeks Vintage and Collectables Shop in Watford. Trying to keep abreast of current toy trends while taking in all knowledge he can of vintage toys and their values is no small task, but he tackles it with the enthusiasm of a 4-year-old given an entire chocolate cake and told "go crazy".

Jenny Wilson - UK Operations West/ Photographer:
Jenny is a sassy, spitfire of a trial lawyer by day, standing up for the rights of the disenfranchised, downtrodden and otherwise down on their luck. By night, she dons a helmet and launches into the ring as a queen of competitive roller derby, where her blocks are as powerful as her motions to dismiss!! While none of this may be note that Jenny is an excellent photographer with an eye for angles and a flair for turning a toy image into art. Love her.
Super Powers: Moves like a hummingbird and changes the colour of her eyes and hair at will! Can talk to fruit bats. Her nose can tell if a fight is about to happen near her. She was also the youngest female to be a landlady of a public house in England, which explains the fight senses.
Interests: Shooting everything with my camera, vampires and werewolves, lost civilizations, walking up mountains, diving, eating pizza

We are always looking for steady writers! Give a shout if you can write interesting sentences with limited editing needed....because loads of editing makes the editor cry. Also, be snarky.

**If you are a company or retailer that can provide us with tech to help create great content daily, we'd be highly appreciative and would be happy to reciprocate with advertisements, banner placements and mentions across social media! Be our sponsor and we'll love you forever! We are currently in need of the following::

Laptop (non MAC, good enough to crunch video)
High Capacity Portable Chargers
Updated Samsung Galaxy cell (currently rocking an s5 averaging 2k pics a day at big events. Curious to see what we can do with a newer phone with a better camera and longer battery life!)
Cell mic for shooting video (do they make these?)
Cell clamp to plug into tripods and monopods
Streaming Gear: Upgrade on our graphics card, camera, mic, monitors, new, quieter keyboard, gaming trackball mouse. No idea what else we need to make this jump. Come discuss!

**If any individual would like to donate us any of the gear above (or just donate a sum of money toward our cause), we will sing your praises at the bottom of articles and most likely tell stories about you that aren't true but are still funny.

Will you review my thingy? - Maybe. Email Paul Nicholasi at the address up top and we'll see if it fits.

Will you support my KickstarterIndieGoGoGoFundMeGiveMeMoneys? - We always consider it, but it has to be really cool, really fun and again, fit in with our crowd.

Will you come cover our event? - If it fits and the date works and we have someone in the area, it's a strong possibility. Email Paul Nicholasi up top with details and we'll see if we can make it work. If it's too far away, flying us there is also a solution.

Can we advertise on your site? - We don't currently have a system set up for this, BUT, as you see, a few select friends are up on the right hand side, so we have a way to accommodate. We also occasionally accept sponsors for upcoming events, so get in touch with the Editor up top.

How do we send you news? - The "Got Tips" button on the front page will open an email box just for this purpose, or just email the Editor above.

I'm crushing your head... - I block. WE BATTLE!

What is Stan Lee? - Cyborg

There's an item in an article that is our property or contains knowledge we didn't want out there. How do we get that gone? - First and foremost, please know that the policy at Idle Hands is we will run anything that is made public. This includes sales sheets and catalogs (digital or paper) given to our people at events, pre-orders on websites across the globe, items we find on your website and anything displayed at an event we've been told is OK to report on and/or photograph. If we ran information/images of yours, it's been made public somewhere. We don't even know how to begin to be sneaksy. That said, we are more than reasonable and are happy to discuss the matter further. See the Editor up top.

Can we repost your news? - Yes, but please credit us. If you are grabbing pictures and info, please only grab half at the most of what we are showing/what you are after, and link back for the rest. We appreciate your interest and thank you for your cooperation!
