Prime Video Announces Cast for Upcoming Animated Series Kevin

The cat’s out of the bag! Today, Prime Video announced series regulars of the upcoming adult animated series Kevin. The series stars Jason Schwartzman (Isle of Dogs, The French Dispatch) as KEVIN, a housecat who decides to try life without people, and Aubrey Plaza as DANA (The White Lotus, Emily the Criminal), one half of a human couple who he leaves behind. Additional series regulars include Whoopi Goldberg (The Lion King, Sister Act) as CUPCAKE, John Waters (Hairspray, Liar Mouth) as ARMANDO, and Aparna Nancherla (The Great North, Bob’s Burgers) as JUDY– Kevin’s new cat roommates at a local pet rescue run by human SETH, played by Gil Ozeri (Big Mouth, Monsters) and his dog BRANDI, played by Amy Sedaris (BoJack Horseman, At Home with Amy Sedaris). The series is set to stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Child's Play Remake Goes Into Production

Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures (MGM) will produce a contemporary version of the iconic horror classic Child’s Play for Orion Pictures; it was announced today by Jonathan Glickman, MGM’s President, Motion Picture Group and John Hegeman, President, Orion Pictures. Starring Aubrey Plaza (Ingrid Goes West, Legion, Parks and Recreation) as Karen, Emmy and Tony nominee Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta, Widows, If Beale Street Could Talk) as Mike and Gabriel Bateman (Lights Out, American Gothic) as Andy, principal photography commenced in Vancouver. Rising filmmaker Lars Klevberg (Polaroid) will direct from Tyler Burton Smith’s (Kung Fury, Quantum Break video game) screenplay based on the original motion picture.

Child’s Play follows a mother (Plaza) who gives her son (Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.

Legion Season 1 Arrives on Blu-ray & DVD March 27

For those of you who scream that all the super hero fare in theaters and on TV plays the same, LOOK NO FURTHER!! Legion is based on the X-Men story line where, basically, the hidden, mentally damaged son of Charles Xavier has to be reigned in, lest he literally tear reality apart. Insane AND mega-powered?? Awesome fruit for further story lines. I'm often very hard on what FOX does with my beloved X-Men, but in this case, they took something the comics I read as a child barely touched on and jumped into it like a cannon ball, utilizing an indie art house aesthetic, music and a number of imaginative story telling devices to roll out a killer narrative. I'll save further gushing for the review, but strongly consider popping for this series!! Here's the announcement...
