Carrie on Blu-ray and DVD January 14

Fear her power! Unleash the telekinetic horror when CARRIE debuts on Digital HD January 3 and on Blu-ray and DVD January 14 from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. An exhilarating re-imagining of Stephen King’s iconic best-seller from director Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry, Stop-Loss), this tale of small town terror stars Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass 2, Dark Shadows) and Julianne Moore (Don Jon, Game Change).

Carrie is a re-imagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.

Telekinetic Girl VS NY Coffee Shop

With one week til the opening of the Carrie remake, super pranksters Thinkmodo took to the streets of New York City...and rigged a coffee shop for destruction. MIND EXPLODEY DESTRUCTION!! I don't know about you but if this had happened in Brooklyn when I was growing up, someone would have decked the poor girl. We all knew about mutants...and you gotta knock those suckers out fast. I'll also add, if friends of mine had rigged this, the dude's head would have went kaplooey and those coffee shop patrons would be scarred for life right now. Hit play and prepare to laugh your ass off. Suffice to say, if you are supposed to be working, you'll have to do this all ninja like...or just call everyone over and disrupt business for 5 minutes. Your call.

Carrie opens October 18th!

Mother's Day in Geekington

Yes, folks, this Sunday is Mother's Day...the one day of the year us ungrateful little monsters must do whatever mom says..at least until midnight. Then it's chaos as usual. In the Geekiverse, Mother's Day is still a celebrated holiday...except maybe over at Disney were only Merida has a mom. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH ALL THE MOMMIES??!! Let's take a look at how folks are celebrating this year...

Carrie loves her momma..even when momma locks her in a closet for hours on end. That's devotion.

The NECA Report: Carrie, Prometheus and Gremlins

Our last NECA update showed off a long awaited Portal figure for the game-obsessed alongside a new Dutch from Predator and a new scale for Gears of War action figures! Today's update isn't as earth shattering, but a Carrie action figure (though not based on the original film) is something to shout about..isn't it?

NECA continue their domination of the horror plastics universe with two new action figures from the upcoming Carrie remake (releasing March 15, 2013) with Chloë Grace Moretz (Hit Girl) in the title role. The 7 inch figure duo make up a sort of before and after...one depicting the moment just before being crowned Prom Queen...and one right after, drenched in pig's blood and gearing up tear some students apart with her freaky mind powers. The latter is sure to be a sought after piece for horror fans...unless they are King/De Palma purists, in which case they can sit there with their frowny faces and leave the plastics for the rest of us. The pair are said to drop (individually) late January. That's late Feb/Early March for those in the US.

NYCC 2012: Back into the Fray...with Geeks

It's the last day of New York Comic Con and as per usual, I am a little worse for wear, but there was hot water in the shower, a happy round Brit on my couch and Vodka still in my system, so all is right with the world. Those of you who are new to the site may have thought I took the weekend off, but if you've been watching the feed up top, I'd done my best to periodically dump some pics into Flickr to curb your fiendish dorkly appetites. Failing that, as was the case yesterday as I was locked in the interview rooms all day where you can't hope to get an upload signal, I switched over to Twitter whenever I could get a tenth of a bar on the cell. You can see that handy work here - https://twitter.com/nomadixxx - and pay particular attention to the pics..which where pretty much what was all around me all day. YOU GET TO BE MY EYES!! How creepy.
