Follow the long, incredible career of Jerry Macaluso and you'll find cult horror film favorites, expansive lines of action figures collectors still battle to posses, and some of the greatest quarter scale statues we've ever seen. With his latest crew (Pop Culture Shock Collectibles), Jerry and company are making geek dreams come true daily with mixed media statues we never thought we might own one day and amazingly fun, smaller scale collectibles from the hottest animated properties. SDCC 2013: Geek Plague Outbreak Map

They were all there, in one place....touching things..coughing..sniffling..wiping their germy phalanges all over every surface..grabbing your shoulder as they took a picture with you in costume...and shaking your hands as they left your booth. The infection has begun, and as the teeming masses longing to fall into a post Comic-Con coma arrive home, they are kissing their loved ones,  coughing on small children and touching the world. THEY. ARE. TOUCHING. THE. WORLD. We've identified the "Hot Spots" to avoid. Infection is currently spreading outward from San Diego to all points global. Infection is inbound to Fantasia in Montreal, though we are told movie geeks are more paranoid and so, touch each other less. Not as immediate but still impending sites of future outbreak include Boston Comic Con, Wizard World Chicago and New York Comic Con. We are expecting the first round of plague to be defeated by October for NYCC, but this event will launch a new strain and if the previous one has survived, it could mutate.

Here are some helpful tips to avoid the post San Diego Comic-Con Plague that is surely arriving in your town as we speak.

San Diego Comic Con 2013 Exclusives List

Welp...that was a good 3days I'll never get back! After poking and prodding and begging companies, desperately trying to convince them they don't have to save all their reveals til the day before San Diego Comic Con 2013 kicks off, I believe we are CLOSE to having a pretty complete list! I say close because I don't fool myself that we got every art vinyl figure and indie creation...and so this task becomes a matter of "how much can Paul's sanity handle?" and the answer to that, my friends, is 3 days straight of compiling this loverly SDCC 2013 Exclusives list. You're welcome.

NOTE: If you are a company with exclusives for sale you'd like to get the word out on, give us a shout! Email paulnomad AT gmail DOT com

SDCC 2013: The Pre-Show View Inside

It's waaaaay too early to pull any new movie posters, movie displays or prop displays out of San Diego Comic Con 2013 yet, but we had a friend inside today that wanted to give us a taste of the show floor coming together while everyone buzzes around to make it happen. Honestly, that is the biggest thing I will miss this year. Going in early, running into old friends with an empty floor on which to say hello and not have to rush off...watching the construction of crazy space ships and massive monitors put into place. One year I came across a guy assembling the Iron Man armor. THAT was practically more fun to watch than the whole show. I'm nerdy like that.

Anyway, here's a look at the still forming San Diego Comic Con show floor...

SDCC 2013: The Calm Before The Dork

As you pack your finest button down shirts with Megatron, Mumm-Ra and the Punisher logo surrounded by flames in a tasteful array of colors, alongside all your survival gear for the epic journey that is everyone's own personal road to Comic-Con, the town that hosts it all readies itself for the cloud of geek, like an oncoming storm of Superior Spider-Man gripes at their tables and many a high pitched Anime-esque squee (from man and woman) as old friends inexplicably run into each other on the streets outside their shops. All that begins tomorrow...but today...all is quiet. The workmen are building...the hotels are wrapped with upcoming movie art...and the streets are clean and calm...all waiting for the oncoming storm. Dun dun duuuuun. That's your que. You are the storm. Go get em, kids!

Boston Comic Con To Be Rescheduled

Just a quick heads up for those who were planning on going this weekend. Even worse news for those guests who are probably already there...

Due to the unfortunate events that have transpired here in Boston, a lock down has been put into effect until further notice causing the Hynes Convention Center to suspend all events. As such, The Boston Comic Con will be rescheduled to a date in the not too distant future. All people who purchased advanced tickets on line will have their tickets honored at the rescheduled show. If for some reason, you can not come to the show on that date, we will refund your ticket.

Please, we ask for your patience, understanding, and cooperation. We appreciate your loyalty, and continued support for the Boston Comic Con. Unfortunately, this situation is beyond our control.

Fillion Takes Philly

When Nathan Fillion isn't answering the heated, desperate questions sent by the hordes of Twitter, he is a very busy man with an acting career that stretches well beyond that little Firefly show you keep demanding return...in any form. Of course I am being sarcastic...but only when I don't include myself in the group begging for more Firefly. Browncoats Rule. ANYWAY, the man called Fillion is so busy, as to not disappoint fans chasing him down the halls of San Diego Comic Con, he created these cards...

If you attend Philadelphia Wizard World this Spring...the chase will be over.

NYCC 2012: Costumes Round 1..FIGHT!

At this point, anyone who recognizes me at a show (all 3 of you..and I thank you) knows I do both San Diego and New York Comic Cons, so I am often asked if there are any outstanding differences between the two. I will name one glaring one. ETHNICITY!! Mirroring the many colored skins of the many different races across New York City, the show floor of New York Comic Con has a fantastic range of people from all walks of life donning costumes purely for the love of it. That's not to say SDCC doesn't draw folks from across the planet...just at NYCC, it stands out a bit more. Also extremely relevant; those old stereotypes about agro New York people go out the window and I can honestly say every damn one of you was incredibly awesome to me every second of the show. At any rate, we proudly present the first round of Costume/Cosplayer pictures from New York Comic Con 2012.

Call Me Geeky

Eeeeeeverybody is jumping on this train! I suppose it has been a while since a pop song was so catchy, cute AND not annoying, so we give the devil his due. I do long for the days when Sloppy Seconds would do a blazing, heart felt punk cover though. Instead, we have all manor of folks making their own videos for the musically addictive "Call Me Maybe", including the Wizard World Crew! High points include a batch of Batman Villains dancing over Robin's body and Shane from Walking Dead getting in on the chorus...which, if you watch the show, makes it all the more funny. Here's Wizard's addition to the dog pile...
