NYCC 2022: Good Omens Season 2 to Debut Summer 2023

Good Omens Season 2 on Prime Video at New York Comic Con 2022

Meghan Lee is running through New York Comic Con soaking up all the geek-loving every booth has to offer, and in between her hunt for newsworthy fun, she takes breaks sitting in on panels for her favorite TV and movie projects! This morning offered some precious moments with Neil Gaiman and the cast of Good Omens as they discussed the highs and pitfalls of exploring heaven and hell's legions. In attendance were Douglas Mackinnon, Rob Wilkins, Maggie Service, Nina Sosanya, Quelin Sepulveda, and, of course, Neil, himself.

  Meghan reports:

Good Omens Season 2 is set to drop Summer of 2023 with 6 episodes at 45 minutes a pop.

Most of the cast is returning. Beelzebub was recast due to scheduling conflicts.

Jon ham told a story about it being written that his reintroduction to the show was to begin with a nude scene walking down a street in SOHO.

A sneak peek clip gave us a first look at a new Angel who struggles with inexperience in all Earthly things. She has been in heaven for six thousand years filing paperwork (poorly) before being sent on a mission.

The shot opens introducing us to Nina in her coffee shop "Give me Coffee or Give Me Death".
She’s interacting with someone who will become another reoccurring character; Mrs Sandwich (Dona Preston). It transitions to the bookshop where Muriel (new Angel) knocks on the door dressed in an all-white Bobby uniform, attempting to convince Michael Sheen that she is a “human officer”. He welcomes her in and offers her tea. She doesn’t know what to do with it. He demonstrates and she declines, saying she enjoys simply looking at it. Crowley enters, sees the situation for what it is and in a very Crowley manner, pokes fun at both of them. She states she is there to monitor Michael Sheen. He and Crowley excuse themselves. End scene.

There will be flashbacks to Crowley and Axaeriphael in 19th century Scotland and 1941 with Nazis.

The chemistry between cast and creators was fantastic. You could tell everyone enjoyed themselves and there was much ribbing.

Prime Video sent over these bits to add to our coverage...

In 2019, Aziraphale and Crowley helped save the world from the Apocalypse. Next year, they'll return, to solve a mystery that takes in all of Heaven and Hell. It's time for an overdue celebration of all things Good Omens, and some of the creators and cast will return to NYCC this October for a very special fan Q&A. Plan your questions and get ready to share in the behind-scenes stories of our favorite angel and demon, and perhaps some of your most burning questions about what you can expect in season two will be answered with more than just a "Wait and See".

Good Omen Season Two Credits: Neil Gaiman continues as executive producer and will co-showrun along with executive producer Douglas Mackinnon, who will also return to direct. Rob Wilkins of Narrativia, representing Terry Pratchett’s estate, John Finnemore, and BBC Studios Productions’ head of comedy Josh Cole will also executive produce, with Finnemore serving as co-writer alongside Gaiman. Good Omens is based on the well-loved and internationally best-selling novel by Terry Pratchett (Hogfather) and Gaiman.
