Tony Stark Carjacked
You may recall some time back, we got into a little dispute with Hasbro over some Iron Man 3 merchandise images we ran. I thought we should be allowed to run images already available and made public by Hasbro representatives online. Their line was I should only be running images they hand to me personally. Suffice to say, we disagreed. The largest point of their ire was over images of an "Assemblers Battle Vehicle" which allows Tony Stark to be rocketed into the action from the front of the car via high tech in-line skates, harkening back to the old skate boots that actually existed in classic Iron Man comics..or so we thought. The box or wordage that came with the product suggested this bit of ridiculous action was not just made to sell more Starkmobiles, but actually mimics a scene straight from the movie. The tenacity of Hasbro's legal department would suggest that information was correct.

A Classic TV Batman Collectibles Onslaught
When Warner Brothers sells a license..they sell it reaaaal good. Back at Toy Fair 2013, we got to see new Classic TV Batman merchandise coming from NECA and Mattel. Now, Diamond Select and Figures Toy Company join the party.
"Sock! Pow! Whap!"
For decades, those words were synonymous with comic books in the mainstream media, thanks to the fan-favorite depiction of comic book images in the DC Comics 1960s Batman Classic TV Series. Today, Diamond Select Toys (DST) is proud to announce it has teamed up with Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP), on behalf of DC Entertainment, to create high-quality collectibles based on the TV classic, including busts and statues.

FREE COMIC BOOK DAY THIS SATURDAY!!!
This is it folks! That wonderful time of year where you can plot a course to several comic shops where artists will be scratching away, writers will be discussing how their incredible brains work (it's all tiny treadmills and teeny weeny runners) and somewhere off in the distance of this talent, there will be free comic books. You may want to go to one shop and just scoop up as much as you can, and that is fine, but I am here, today, to say you are doing it wrong. Free Comic Book Day isn't just about free books and the possibility you just might read something you'll love forever. That in itself is an amazing connection between the creatives and the audience...but there's further opportunity. 1 is to experience your local shops, doing what they do best. I'm a firm believer in there being the right shop for the right reader and in order to find that, you've got to try some on. 2 is the ability to meet folks actually making these books happen. There they are...right there in front of you...the indie artists..and the big marquee names..all on one day...and they probably won't run away no matter how insane your questions are, so take advantage!!!

Funko's Mystery Mini Figure Army
Back in February, Funko (the undisputed masters of cutie transmogrification on all your pop culture loves), showed off several lines of Mystery Mini figures, forever sealing our fates in the hell of blind box collecting...a hell we've been fighting off for many years now. Amid the DC Comics Domos and DC Comics Superheroes and Villains stood a collection in a very unique style, utilized on the creatures and survivors of the blockbuster TV series The Walking Dead. As we OOO'd and Ahhhh'd over these impending plastics of doom, we did not realize mad Mr. Funko was watching from the wings, stroking his beard and whispering "Exxxxcellllent." Today, we see his diabolical plans come to a head.
Presenting...those little frustrating things you'll be spending all your money on for the forseeable future.

Telltale Games Poker Night 2
File this under "In Case You Missed It"..because you don't play poker, aren't a hardcore gamer or just don't spend every waking hour on the computer, enabling your brains to soak up every iota of information that pops up under the search terms "Venture Brothers", "Evil Dead" or "Portal". For us...we blame the latter...but the other 2 apply as well. Shoot me for wanting to see the sun occasionally. A poor geek, indeed.

Iron Man 3 Clip "Since New York"
You're a rich man with a genius intellect that decided your life's calling is helping mankind. Soon after, it seems you aren't the only being on planet Earth capable of super human feats...and that's OK because the world can use all the help it can get. ...But with the heroes come villains and super science run amok and aliens threatening world domination and fiends sneering at your world through holes in your dimension. It's all a bit much to handle...so you lose yourself in the work. A maniac appears with flamethrower hands...you build a fire suit and extinguish him. A gang of thieves figure out how to walk through walls...you build a stealth suit and hover over the city, waiting for their next move. There will never be a shortage of men and women lining up to take what they think is theirs, and so you must be ready to stop them..but where does it end? It's a big question...and one that keeps Tony Stark up at night.

Superman Unbound Blu-ray Reviewed
**SPOILER WARNING. DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT ANYTHING REVEALED TO YOU!** Writing a new Superman story must always be challenging. You've got this alien being who is invulnerable, super fast, super strong, ice breathe, heat vision, he can fly and on and on. It takes a lot to smack this guy upside the head and make him even acknowledge it happened, so for me, the most compelling Superman stories have always been about his humanity and his heart. He's an alien, so even though he looks human, he never quite feels like one of us. Just think of how he perceives the world with super amplified senses. It's enough to drive one away from all human contact, but there he sits in the middle of an overpopulated city, pretending to be someone far weaker than he really is. In the past, animated films like All Star Superman and Superman VS The Elite have explored these frailties in the Man of Steel with excellent writing alongside the super powered action we've come to expect. That is surely one way to make a killer animated super hero film. Another is to pit him against an equally powerful alien force, strong enough to make him question whether he is up to the task, and let him pound it out.

Thale Reviewed
Cleaning up after a gruesome incident has become a "growth field". I'm not sure if this means more people are offing themselves and/or each other in more hideous ways, and more often, OR that there weren't that many people looking to clean up these epic messes for fun and profit! We may never know. Elvis and Leo are in this very profession, though Elvis is new to the position and still driven by his curiosity. It's this lust for knowledge and an inescapable urge to fondle a dead guy's belongings that reveals the hiding place of a woman...very naked...very cold...and very wet. The pair instantly recognize that there is something unusual about her, and while this is a red flag for Leo, it only drives Elvis to further explore a pile of audio cassettes in the hopes they will reveal the identity of this mystery woman.

Iron Man Mark XXXV: The "Red Snapper"
Life is rough for a recovering army builder. I fell off the wagon a couple of weeks ago after seeing Goblins on sale for 2 dollars each. I now own 7 of them...and am itching to hunt for more. The key to an excellent toy army is just enough diversity in your troops to make it look like a proper mob, without it being evident it's the same damn figure 50 times. To that end, there's probably nothing more appealing than Iron Man's Hall of Armors. Just think of it...an endless array of suit concepts, each one allowing for at least 3 to 4 repaints as time goes on, strapping on new accessories for a completely different look. The mind boggles at the possibilities. It seems Hot Toys is beginning to catch our particular ailment and today, gives us a brand new armor to drool over. Here's the latest from our friends across the water...

Iron Man 3 at Times Square Toys R Us
It's become tradition to put up some mind blowing display..usually of toys...sometimes of props...from the latest geekstravaganza about to hit the big screen. A mini celebration encased in plexiglass, if you will. For The Avengers, it was an all out war with Loki and his Chitauri warriors on the streets of New York City with the giant S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier looming overhead. For The Amazing Spider-Man, it was a selection of Peter Parker's gear including the mask and web shooters straight from the film. Now, with Iron Man 3 mere weeks away, Times Square Toys R Us has erected a mini hall of armors, awesome enough to stop any toy geek dead in his/her tracks and make them all to their knees. Oh...if only we could have an entire wall that looks like this....it's all full of stars... ~dies~

Boston Comic Con To Be Rescheduled
Just a quick heads up for those who were planning on going this weekend. Even worse news for those guests who are probably already there...
Due to the unfortunate events that have transpired here in Boston, a lock down has been put into effect until further notice causing the Hynes Convention Center to suspend all events. As such, The Boston Comic Con will be rescheduled to a date in the not too distant future. All people who purchased advanced tickets on line will have their tickets honored at the rescheduled show. If for some reason, you can not come to the show on that date, we will refund your ticket.

Star Trek: The Video Game Ready to Launch
In the world of video games, a movie tie-in isn't exactly something people cheer for, as they tend to be..well...crap. In bringing the Star Trek movie series into the video game world, the creators knew they needed to create something special for fans of the films, old and new (one word...GORN!!), enough action for the every day gamers to find impressive (Gorn attacking..pretty awesome) and still, make the game easy enough for someone who just loves the content to be tempted to pick it up. Did they hit all their marks? Did we mention there are GORN in this game??!!

Super7's ReAction Alien Figures
Back at San Diego Comic Con, eagle eyed collectors caught a glimpse of the past come to haunt us...but not in the way the Grudge girl does with the weird throaty sound and strangly hair. Nono..this is a good haunting. We'll call it the "Ghosts of toys that never were."
In 1979, prototypes for 3 ¾” action figures for the ALIEN film were developed but never manufactured. Through our network of industry and collector contacts, Super7 has unearthed reference material and original 34-year-old prototypes and will now make these “lost toys” a reality.

Electro Spotted in New York City
As Amazing Spider-Man 2 continues shooting in New York City, pictures come flooding in. Some are crap camera phone pics....but some are gorgeous movie-still-quality shots like those we found on Screen Crush today! Jamie Foxx lumbered through the streets, perhaps just after the incident which transforms him into a living bolt of electricity...skin a metallic blue and little lights lining his hood to illuminate his face...no doubt to be removed in post so the man himself appears to glow. As he leans against the light post, you can imagine what comes next. Maybe an explosion as the post is overloaded with power, sending a jolt to every post down the line which explodes as well. Electro is still a bit confused but understands the finer points of his new power and flees into darkness to think on his potential.

New Pacific Rim TV Spot
You say you're excited about Iron Man 3? That's fantastic. High hopes for Man of Steel? Superb. We here at Idle Hands are hoping to have perpetual chills during our entire screening of Pacific Rim as leviathan-esque monsters try to wipe out Earth and massive human piloted robots are the only thing that stands in their way. Of course, this movie can go either way. Rely only on spectacle and while you have some incredible eye candy to fill the time, the story will suffer for it. Then again...the story could be ridiculous. Luckily, Guillermo del Toro is behind the wheel...and one thing that man knows how to do is tell an epic tale.
Check out the newest clip from Pacific Rim...

Mob Of The Dead
Four mobsters find themselves trapped on the notorious Alcatraz Island. They soon find out though that they are not alone in the prison cell blocks. Chazz Palminteri, Joe Pantoliano, Michael Madsen, and Ray Liotta star in one of the most frightening Zombies experiences yet.
Is this the plot of a new, wacky indie horror flick riding the coat tails of The Walking Dead? NO! It's the second DLC Map Pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. ...and now I'm going to pretend I know what a DLC Map Pack is and use the phrase continuously in conversation for the rest of the day. "MY what a lovely DLC Map Pack you have young lady!" Cue Benny Hill running music. Here's the eye candy...

Star Trek Big Bang Theory
Sometimes...things just come together. Sometimes...things just make sense. No...this is not a Talking Heads song. Funko are always looking for the next big thing in the world of pop culture and at the same time, look for new opportunities to mine the classic properties we've been buying into since we were old enough to scream "BATMAN" into an old lady's ear....not that I ever did anything like that. That said, you'll agree that bobbles of the cast of Big Bang Theory dressed in Star Trek outfits is a no-brainer, instant win, full of awesome uber idea, yes? We thought so.

The Hanna-Barbarians Are Coming
On April 19 myplasticheart will celebrate the opening of Hanna-Barbarians, a group show featuring the work of over 20 artists from the U.S. and abroad. The show’s name is a tongue-in-cheek reference to its theme, with all artists creating pieces using elements from their favorite cartoons. This is a chance for these artists to showcase those cartoons that have influenced them throughout their careers, sometimes being critical elements in their development and interest in the arts. The show is curated by the Studio Miners, Evoker & Team Sweet, who find joy in documenting the wonderfully exciting world of artists, collectors and creatives of all kinds. This theme particularly appealed to the Studio Miners because in their travels and studio visits, they were always fascinated to see what imagery other artists surrounded themselves with to stimulate creativity.

Woochi The Demon Slayer
This fantasy-action blockbuster based on a Korean folktale broke all box-office records in Korea in 2009. Jeon Woo-chi, an undisciplined, womanizing wizard unjustly accused of the death of his master, is trapped inside an ancient scroll until he is set free in 2009 by the wizards that imprisoned him to help fight against evil goblins that have taken over present-day Korea. The only problem is that Woo-chi is more interested in his new modern home – and the women of Korea – than becoming a hero. Will he be the savior of mankind?

Clancy Brown Talks Lex Luthor, Dream Projects and Mr. Krabs Starring in Female Perversion
Heather Buckley is and will always be our go to girl for killer interviews. While some folks are strapped with boring questions they need to ask as a mandate from the higher ups at their magazine, Heather has the trust of those who pass her assignments and love her at the same time, and so is free to mine an often wildly varied past to elicit reactions in a celebrity no one else will. it was with this knowledge we sent Heather off to interview Clancy Brown..The Kurgan..Mr. Krabs..and the quintessential voice of Lex Luthor) for the upcoming LEGO Batman: The Movie.
When asked what Brown brings to Lego Lex he replied: “I try to bring some humor, I try to bring some terror, I try to bring whatever they want me to bring.” But he credits the writers for putting it all there for him; as an actor he “reads what’s on the page.”

Lay Your Head Upon the Sigils of Westeros
For those completely addicted to Game of Thrones, the launch of Season 3 brings mixed blessings. Every Sunday night, HBO takes you away to your favorite fantasy destination for rousing games of "Who is Lord Tyrion going to piss off this week?", or "WHOO do we get to see nekkid today?" or the best one, which involves praying to 7 Gods you make up at random to strike down that little shit King Joffrey in mid sentence. And you thought life would end after Walking Dead's season finale. There is one small problem, though. Each episode of Game of Thrones is so much fun, it makes the week in between each episode seem like an eternity. First World Problems, indeed. This is where Idle Hands comes in. We figure, if we can fill your lives with trinkets, baubles and statues of Tyrion charging into battle with axe in hand, we just might get through those cold days together. Today, we add to that list of desires with Factory Entertainment's Game of Thrones House Sigil Throw Pillow Assortment.

McFarlane Walking Dead TV Series 4 Action Figures
We last got a taste of these ghouls and the folks who jab them in the head at Toy Fair 2013. Now, we get further details straight from the masters of plastics and images from parts unknowwwwwn (said in honor of Wrestlemania..cuz it's all about the prayers, the toys and the training brother!!)
This next series includes a sharpshooter from the original group of Atlanta survivors, the baddest man around (so far), the most grown up kid we know, and a couple zombies that are even more difficult to kill. As a special addition, and just like in the show, Daryl and Merle are finally being reunited in the highly requested Dixon brother 2-pack.
As always, each highly articulated human figure features the exact likeness of the actor by using a 3D scanning process and come with multiple accessories. And just like with the first three series of figures, each zombie included features an amazing attention to detail and unique play-action for maximum fun!

Asbury Park Comic Con 2013
There are many conventions across the globe covering all manor of genre and fetish. Within that world, there must be over 50 that call themselves Comic Book Conventions...or more specifically, as to draw the crowds and bank on the most popular brand, call themselves Comic Con. I've been attending Comic Book and Horror conventions for over 20 years now, so you'll have to trust me when I say Asbury Park Comic Con is unique. HOW does a convention, fairly new to the scene, manage to find a hook few others are attempting these days, in a world where every idea has been done to death? By going back to basics. Asbury Park Comic Con...has comics as its focus! Radical idea.

The Munsters Select Action Figures Are Hotroddin' in Series 3
The Munsters Select: Hotrod Herman
Clocking in at 350 pounds and 7 feet 3 inches tall, Herman Munster was built in 1850 by Dr. Victor Frankenstein, but is nothing like Frankenstein's monster of legend. A good-natured, soft-spoken funeral home employee, Herman is a World War II veteran, a good husband to his vampire wife Lily and a loving father to his werewolf son Eddie. This 7-inch scale figure depicts actor Fred Gwynne as he appeared in the 1965 TV episode "Hot Rod Herman," when he got mixed up in drag racing and lost the family Koach. The Select version of Herman includes parts to build the family staircase diorama; the basic figure will also be available at Toys "R" Us.

LucasFilm & Dark Horse Announce The Star Wars
Dark Horse is honored to announce a dream project: working with J.W. Rinzler, executive editor at LucasBooks, and artist Mike Mayhew (Avengers) to adapt the rough-draft original screenplay which spawned the biggest franchise in film history!
Three years before his 1977 film, George Lucas put down on paper his first story set in a galaxy far, far away—a tale of fantastic adventures, daring escapes, “lazer swords,” romance, and monsters. A story of Jedi Annikin Starkiller and General Luke Skywalker, an alien named Han Solo, and evil Sith Knights. The screenplay was titled The Star Wars!
“I’m not sure where I first read about The Star Wars—it was years and years ago—but the idea of Luke Skywalker being an older Jedi General, and Han Solo being a six-foot-tall lizard, turned my Star Wars fan brain on its side,” said longtime Star Wars editor Randy Stradley. “I always assumed this would be one of those stories that would be ‘lost to history,’ so getting to work on bringing it to life is kinda like a dream come true.”
