Mattel's Superman: Man of Steel Collectibles Lineup

As June 14th draws ever closer, we thought we'd take a look at all the crazy toys that have hit shelves in force to celebrate Superman: Man of Steel! Like the Iron Man 3 line, which seems to be stalled on the pegs at the moment, Mattel's Man of Steel line has a heavy focus on kid-friendly play, with a slight detour into collector territory with their Movie Masters series. The middle ground looks to be a 3 and 3 quarter inch line that is light on details and articulation, but packed with an accessory for play ripped straight from the screen...until you get into the various power suits for Superman, which we highly doubt make an appearance. Can't do a toy line without day-glow super heroes!! Here's the main lineup from Mattel...

LEGO in 2013: Legion of Mini Super Heroes

Toy Fair 2012 is over 2 months away, but if San Diego Comic Con can start their pre-show prep, so can we! We've been laying out Hasbro's action figure and construction kit plans for next year. Now we'll take a look at what LEGO has planned for their DC Comics and Marvel Comics universes.

For those looking forward to a new year when LEGO might explore the full breathe of the Marvel and DC comics worlds, we have good news and bad news. The good news is that the Marvel sets will include some new characters. The bad news is most of those new characters are either movie related or have an animated angle. In that same respect, in their DC lineups, you'll get new characters, but a great deal of them are re-released or movie related. Let's lay things out.

NOTE: Titles for sets may not be final or exact translations. Our info comes from all over the planet! Also note these may not be FULL lineups.

New Mattel Superman Movie Toy Commercials

Or as we call them in the industry..."Sizzles"! Saucy, eh? These Superman toy teasers were most likely put together for the toy buying season, which has begun! There is one giant sized round of buying in October where the major toy companies meet the major buyers, then another round in February, which most of you will identify as Toy Fair in New York City. There are other shows in the UK and such, but these two massive events most likely account for 85% of the toy buying business done across the planet.

The Mega Ultra Super Suit from Man of Steel

I'm just going to refer to this as such until the movie comes out, the suit looks awesome on screen and we all breathe a sigh of relief. I've already seen the Amazing Spider-Man suit in action and it looks stellar, so I'm open to just about anything now! ComingSoon gave you the first awesome look at the costumes from Superman: Man of Steel some days back. We followed up with more images from our buds on the show floor. Now we are scraping up the last images we have available to give you that ultra close up view (or as close as we can get so far) so you can drink it in til you are satiated and soon after let your nerdage flow across the interwebs.

Licensing Expo 2012 Underway

Sure, you can attend San Diego Comic Con and New York Comic Con and Toy Fair where everything is laid out in front of you with no mystery...but Licensing...now there was an Easter egg hunt! Beyond the giant wall posters showing art from new films and cartoons and those smaller movie posters hidden throughout the show flanking major set pieces from those films, you had to really dig through every booth to find the good stuff and sometimes, if you were lucky, someone from that company would lead you to a secret room with even MORE awesome goodies to shoot! To say I had great fun at this show was an understatement, but they split like an X girlfriend relocating to a town that could provide non stop fun in an optimal business shmoozing environment...as all x's tend to do. Now I can only hope someone will see my frantic arm flailing here in NJ and take pity on me by filling my email with pretty pictures. Today, our excellent friend Marc Mostman of Striker Entertainment and the fine, fine folks at Licensing proper gave us plenty to chew on! Dig this modest stack of images and quick vids that allow us a little window into the madness going on in Vegas at the moment.
