Toy Fair 2025: Schleich on Harry Potter

UK Toy Fair 2025 Schleich Harry Potter 003

Continuing across the show floor at UK Toy Fair, we ran into our friends at Schleich who gave premium placement to their newest Harry Potter figures! While the first wave of their line concentrated on the core movies and the creatures within, some of these new additions shine a spotlight (or a wand in full Lumos casting) on Fantastic Beasts from the Wizarding World.

Sweet Suite 2018 LEGO Harry Potter Mini Figures

With an oceanfront view, Idle Hands spent the day getting on our knees to shoot all the little plastic people, and then comically trying to get back up again so YOU, the ones we love, can see all the toys coming to stores this August and on into the Holiday Season. Teaser Trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Goes Live

The Harry Potterverse sagas continue within the Fantastic Beasts story line kicked off in the 2016 film. The Crimes of Grindelwald continues the tale of an awkward Newt Scaramander struggling to prove to the magical world that supernatural creatures should be studied, respected and, of course, loved.

At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.

In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

SDCC 2016: Preview Night with Fantastic Beasts, Walking Dead, X-Men & More

by Saniyat K Choudhury

Well it’s that time of the year again! San Diego Comic-Con’s preview night kicked off this past Wednesday with the bustle and energy that we’ve come to expect. It was preview night so the crowd wasn’t overwhelming. I got in line to pick up my badge and received the standard literature with an awesome tote bag. This being my first year at the show, commonplace things like the giant Warner Bros tote bag and such were all new to me. There were different themes to all the bags but the coolest part was the flap that goes over the top of the bag. If you don’t secure the flap with the Velcro, it looks like a cape! With bags featuring the Flash or Supergirl TV logos (just to name a couple), you could express your geek loves for all of Comic-con to see. My bag contained the poster image from ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.’ It wasn’t exactly cape-worthy, but I still think Eddie Redmayne looks pretty heroic flapping in the wind on my back.
