SPIDER-MAN: Into The Spider-Verse Animated Movie Trailer Goes LIVE

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.

On December 14, 2018, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the directors of The Lego Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and 21 and 22 Jump Street, are taking Spider-Man back to his graphic roots with the first-of-its-kind animated Spider-Man feature. The film will exist independently of the projects in the live-action Spider-Man universe, all of which are continuing.

Featuring Shameik Moore (Dope, The Get Down) voicing Miles Morales alongside Liev Schreiber (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Repo Men), Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, Luke Cage) and Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta, Vice Principals). 

Not much more is known about the project, but pouring over the trailer a few times, we spotted the following...

The grave of Peter Parker? In the "Ultimate Spider-Man" comic, Miles Morales takes on the Spider-Man mantle after the death of Peter Parker.

FISK! Referring to the Kingpin, most definitely. He's a major figurehead in organised crime, specifically in New York in the Marvel Universe and now a well known figure from the Netflix Daredevil series.

Spider-Man perusing Prowler, a figure we are awaiting the introduction of in the MCU Spider-Man films as Donald Glover played Aaron Davis (aka Prowler) in Spider-Man: Homecoming, the uncle of Miles Morales. It's likely they'll follow this storyline a bit.
