For those of you craving 80s nostalgia, Polyphony debuted its initial wave of blind box Garbage Pail Kids vinyl collectibles at the New York Toy Fair. For the first series, collectors will have a chance of opening one of seven delightfully disgusting mystery figures including GPK mascot Adam Bomb, bubblegum popping Joe Blow, the self-inflicting siamese twins Double Heather, fire starter Fryin’ Ryan, along with Sheepish Seth, Smelly Sally, and Pete Seat. Expect to see these figures on shelves later this year. No word on whether each figure will come with its own trading card - a mystery as juicy as a pack of 1985 gum!
But the biggest (literally) news is Polyphony’s massive 15-inch Adam Bomb figure—the largest Garbage Pail Kids vinyl collectible to date! This explosive centerpiece features a rotatable head and hand, along with a separate red detonation button that collectors must place in Adam’s hands to "ignite" the fun. Plus, it’s packed with nostalgic extras: an exclusive wax paper-style poster, mimicking the original GPK wrappers, a file card that doubles as a protective poster case, a wearable orange and yellow striped tie, a wearable pair of 3D glasses, and A 3D trading card.
But the ‘80s goodness doesn’t stop there. Polyphony is also developing the biggest and baddest My Pet Monster figure ever, featuring broken chains, an articulated head, and poseable hands, bringing this beloved beast to life like never before! My Pet Monster is standing at 24" tall, and is sculpted by James Groman, who in addition to being a legendary sculptor is also one of original creators of the My Pet Monster character.
Expect chaos, nostalgia, and collectibles galore when these figures launch later this year!
