Buffy and Angel get Monster High Makeovers

Mattel Monster High Buffy and Angel set 01
Watch out, vampires, demons, and forces of darkness: Monster High is unleashing a Buffy the Vampire Slayer 2-pack upon the world! These Buffy and Angel dolls are dressed for a “graveyard shift,” so to speak, in their ‘90s-chic faux-leather outfits. His sword necklace and her Slayer handbook purse and boot heels all feature fun nods to the hit series that ran for seven seasons in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Rest assured, she also comes with stake and crossbow accessories so she’s ready to slay any vampire that comes her way … maybe even Angel!

Dynamite and Kelly Thompson Resurrect ANGEL

Dynamite and Kelly Thompson ANGEL Comic Book
Following the epic announcement of the return of Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics with Kelly Thompson at the helm, Dynamite is excited to announce the companion series that fans have been waiting for, as Angel kicks off this August, by Thompson and artist Giulia Giacomino.

Once the terrifying vampire known as Angelus, the man fans now know as Angel was cursed for his crimes with the return of his soul. His newfound humanity led him to the seemingly idyllic small town of Sunnydale, and a star-crossed love affair with the Slayer — Buffy Summers. Once the tragedy had run its course, Angel set off for new adventures (and his own show) in Los Angeles as a detective specializing in supernatural cases and helping the helpless.

Things don't always go according to plan, however, and sometimes you do have to go home again. But what if in trying to set something right, chaos follows? This is that story.

SDCC 2025: Buffy & Angel Stake a New Path in Comics from Kelly Thompson

SDCC 2025 Dynamite Entertainment Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and companion series Angel mark their hotly anticipated return to comic stories from Dynamite Entertainment and Disney’s 20th Television, ushering in a groundbreaking new era of the mythos.

Eisner Award-winning Kelly Thompson will be taking on the comic book franchise, as the master architect and writer for both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. The two series are set to interconnect and complement each other closely, for an epic introduction to the characters and franchise for new audiences as well as long-time readers. Buffy and Angel are two of her most ambitious projects to date, after over a decade of fan-favorite and critically acclaimed work including Absolute Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, It's Jeff, Hawkeye, Rogue & Gambit, and Deadpool — as well as stories based on cherished properties like Jem and the Holograms, G.I. Joe’s Scarlett, and Star Wars. Superstar cover artist David Nakayama will be contributing to both titles.

NYCC 2013: Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel & Faith Return

Announced today at New York Comic Con, Dark Horse is bringing the Whedonverse into it’s tenth season with the help of fan favorite authors, Christos Gage and Victor Gischler.

“In Buffy, Season 10 is going to be about bringing friendships back together, while in Angel and Faith, relationships are shattered. Magic is starting to come back into the world, but in some surprising ways, like that vampire we saw standing in the sunlight at the end of Season 9,” says Editor in Chief Scott Allie.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 10 is slated for 30 issues, written by Christos Gage and illustrated by Rebekah Issacs, with covers by long time series artist, Steve Morris.

“The Buffyverse community has been wonderfully welcoming to Rebekah and me. It's a tremendous honor for Joss and Dark Horse to trust us with their flagship book, and we are going to do all we can to be worthy of that trust. It's a new season, with new rules...but hopefully the same blend of love, action, horror, humor and creativity that's made Buffy and her Scoobies part of all our families. We hope you'll join us for the ride,” states Christos Gage.

Dark Horse's Buffyverse Sampler for 2013

If there was ever a "gateway drug" to the world of Dark Horse's Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics universe, this is it. It never ceases to amaze me the number of die hard Buffy fans out there who still haven't even heard of the comic, and apparently, despite overwhelming success, Dark Horse has taken notice and aims to get you hooked.

Following the success of Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8, Dark Horse launched four separate series for the anticipated Buffy Season 9. Buffy Season 9 and Angel & Faith are direct follow-ups to Season 8, while Spike and Willow are spinoffs from those two ongoing series.

Collected here are all four #1 issues, with all-new cover art by C. L. Bradley! Coming in at 96 pages, this issue carries the low cover price of only $4.99!

Look for this at your local comic shop on January 23, 2013!

It's everything a Whedonite could wish for, and it's on sale NOW! Run over to DREAD CENTRAL for my thoughts on the two premiere books and then get to a comic shop to score your books today!
