Target Revives Marty Abrams MEGO Figure Lines

Mego Corporation is proud to announce the return of the ground-breaking action figure toy line, Marty Abrams presents MEGO, which will be available exclusively at Target! The first wave will include characters from hit properties like Star Trek, DC Comics and I Dream of Jeannie. Each will have a unique serial number and be produced in a limited run of 10,000.

“This has been 30 years in the making and I’m excited to give my loyal fans and their kids something new and amazing to play with,” said Martin Abrams, Co-Founder and CEO of Mego Corporation. “We wanted to recreate a line that provides that nostalgic feeling of seeing a display of action figures they had as a child, and to share that with their own children.”

Marty Abrams presents MEGO will be revealing the new line at San Diego Comic-Con (booth 830), July 19th - 22nd. Comic-Con guests will have a unique opportunity to purchase a limited number of the new action figures before they launch at Target. All items will be signed by Marty Abrams and a special celebrity guest.

Joe Namath was the first licensed action figure that MEGO created in the early 1970's. This year is the 50th anniversary of the first super bowl and Joe Namath's character will be returning to the MEGO lineup in celebration. 29 sets of figures will be available for sale at SDCC this year. Attend the signing with Marty Abrams and Joe Namath and get yours signed!

MEGO will also be launching a VIP Insider program where MEGO super fans can help promote and celebrate the return! MEGO fans who enroll in the program will be invited to engage in a series of creative challenges "from Marty himself!" All program participants will be the first to hear about MEGO news, receive passes to special events and other bonuses to be revealed.

Figure lineups include revisits to lines iconic to MEGO collectors like Action Jackson, DC Comics (with Harley Quinn revealed and a teased Superman figure ), Star Trek (with Sulu revealed and packaging suggesting a Gorn and Romulan Commander are next up) and Wizard of Oz alongside classic TV and pop culture icons like Football Star Joe Namath, I Dream of Jeanie and The Bradie Bunch, and more contemporary properties like Firefly, Married with Children, Charmed, Full House and Cheers. Licensors include CBS, WB, Sony and more. The line will feature 8-inch figures, 8-inch figure 2-pack dioramas and 14-inch figures. Expect three waves of figures from now through November. Wave 2 hits October 1st, followed by Wave 3 on November 1st.

The new line of collectibles hits stores and Target.com July 29, but fans will get a first look next week during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con. In addition to the MEGO line, Comic-Con attendees will also get a preview of more exciting new Target-exclusive products, like a Studio Series Transformers Bumblebee Helmet from Hasbro, a WWE Elite Action Figure from Mattel and multiple shared exclusives from Funko.
