The Weedhacker Massacre is a clever bit of fun.

“How many remakes of a bad horror movie can you make?”

The question alone made me chuckle and knowing co-creator Allen Danzinger (Jerry, original “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”) was involved was enough to want a screener. And I was NOT disappointed.

Eli Roth’s projects work within a certain framework. Young, beautiful, privileged party people, having a great time, only to be interrupted by almost fantastically horrible life events. Flesh-eating bacteria. Torture chambers times two. They suffer and scream. They wind up bloody, watching their loved ones die in front of them. These same themes are also explored within Aftershock, a film that he stars in, co-wrote and produced. Though I would not even call it a movie, maybe an exercise; a very tertiary level exploration of what happens when it all goes very wrong.

Ghostface ...of the Undead?

WAAAAAAAY back in the olden days when Movie Maniacs was the only action figure line daring to make horror toys via McFarlane, we got a Ghostface action figure to menace our shelves with superior stabby action. Now, as Scream 4 prepares to hit theaters, NECA want to make sure you've got a little 7 inch GF in hand at the theater on opening night.

It seems the masters of pop culture plastics have not one but TWO different Ghostfaces on the way. One is described as the "Classic" look. The other... ZOMBIE??!! WHAT A TWEEST!! Have we just uncovered a major plot point of the film or just a costume change? Let's face it, those robes are getting old and it's got to be hard to chase today's steroid pumped teens in it. Plus, Zombies are so hot right now. DISCUSS!!

The toy is due to drop February, 2011 while the movie hits April 15th.

NOTE FOR THE TOY GEEKS: The "Zombie" Ghostface is packed 2 to 6 in a case, so the chase is on.

Cringe At The Human Centipede (First Sequence) Trailer

I've shown a lot of people a lot of movies that made them question if they'd really seen that at a later date, since the visuals were so insane and we were so, so drunk. THIS movie, however, seems to be reaching for the stars. I can't conceive anything sicker than the premise for this film, but I'm sure some young genius will come along one day and create a movie that will make us projectile vomit uncontrollably from the first scene on. Until that day, I present to you, The Human Centipede (First Sequence). Thanks to Dread Central for the mental scarring this trailer will surely deliver.
