From the first moment NECA showed off their new Toony Terrors action figure line, I had only one thought in mind. The iconic killers from our favorite films were so expertly translated into cartoon characters, there was only one gang of monster fighters they could face off against.

As luck would have it, Character Toys have just re-released their Scooby action figure line in incredibly affordable 2 packs starring the Scoobies paired with creepy bad guys I did not own yet, all for 6 dollars each. Not a deal I could pass up! With a NECA box of terrors delivered at lightning speed, all that was left was to set the stage, and the Big Kid Toy Store at the New Egypt Flea Market just happened to provide all the supernatural looking settings I needed. When you are a company striving for perfection with every action figure release while filled to the brim with highly creative individuals, you may take a moment to step away from creating EVERY DAMN VERSION of Jason Voorhees and Freddy Keueger from EVERY DAMN SECOND in all of their respective films to have a little fun with your licenses. NECA Fan Event 2019: The Shape of Water's Amphibian Man

NECA spent some time hanging out with some die hard fans yesterday at Yestercades in Westfield, New Jersey, showing off a big pile of action figures that have just been released, are releasing any minute and are so close you can smell that new plastic. Among the supernatural killers, alien hunters and radioactive ninja turtle teens was the Amphibian Man from the much celebrated film The Shape of Water. Actor Doug Jones kills it, once again, as a fish man out of water (once again!), and with the imagination of Guillermo del Toro fueling the action, we were guaranteed a cinematic moment to remember. NECA sets this moment in stone...or rather plastic...with a fantastic action figure many fans beyond the realms of collecting will want to own.

NECA Delivers the Tools for Freddy's Nightmares

Toy companies are constantly bombarded with "excellent ideas" on what they should make...whether they jibe with what licenses they currently pay for or not. NECA is one such company, having made themselves very accessible in public and online, constantly answering questions on all points and responding in sometimes surprising ways. As fans themselves, NECA shares your wants...your needs...your...DESIRES....and if they are cost effective and will yeild buckets of cash, sometimes, they can make them all come true!! Such is the case with their recent dip into diorama sets and accessory packs...and from the look of things, it's all coming up MILLHOUSE!!

Talking Toys with Jackson: NECA's Bat Gremlin

As we ready ourselves for San Diego Comic-Con 2016, we thought it was the perfect time to relax and introduce you to our newest toy reviewer... Doctor Jackson Powers Wigglebutt!! To my knowledge, Jackson is the first feline toy reviewer and we wish him the best of luck! Toy Fair 2016: NECA's Alien Armada Grows

NECA runs a tight ship. Getting a piece of exclusive news these days...or any piece of news to run before NECA has announced it officially...well...it doesn't happen. It should come as no surprise that UK Toy Fair was void of most NECA releases, but we did get a trio of soon to be released Aliens in package, and that's as good as it gets! We've got two Aliens vs Predator Aliens (Grid Alien and Warrior Alien) and one 79' Concept Alien.

SDCC 2013: NECA's First 5 Celebrity Simpsons Revealed

A short time back, we announced that NECA, those masters of 7 inch action figures (primarily based on films), would be tackling The Simpsons cartoon series in a way no one has before. ONE CELEBRITY AT A TIME!! I instantly started sending Randy Falk hand written letters in crayon on construction paper asking when he would be putting The Ramones in this line. It's been a good use of my time. I've sent 29 so far. Today, we get a CGI'd up look at the first 5.

Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products and National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA Booth 3145) today revealed artwork showcasing the first five celebrities included in the limited edition guest star merchandise program celebrating 25 seasons of THE SIMPSONS. Announced at Licensing Expo 2013, the first five guest stars include, Hugh Hefner, James Brown, Yao Ming, Tom Hanks, and Kid Rock.

Toy Fair 2013: NECA Prometheus Series 2 and Beyond

Marching on with our Toy Fair 2013 coverage beaming in from the UK, we get another look at NECA's excellent Prometheus Series 2 action figures. Following the release of the Engineer in the "chair suit" and the Engineer in a pressure suit come David 8 and Deacon, slated to drop late February. David comes with an alternate "geared up" head to slip under his space helmet and a flashlight and Deacon comes with a dissected Engineer head and bendy Hammerpede accessories. David stands 6 3/4" tall and has over 20 points of articulation. We were told Holloway was bumped to a later series, but his presence on the back of the series 2 packaging must mean he is coming SOON! I'm sure we'll learn more at the US Toy Fair in February.

A Nasty Quarter Scale Hobbits

Because Hobbits is obviously the singular of Hobbitses. NECA have been dominating the Movie and Video Game action figure realms in a 7 inch format for some time. Now, they are obviously bored and looking to conquer the lands of higher plastic scales. Since today is All Hobbit's Eve, we thought it appropriate to bring out the star of the show. NECA's large scale Gollum is already hitting shelves across the planet and now, Mr. Bilbo Baggins is getting ready to join him!

Bilbo stands 12" tall and features over 20 points of articulation. He is dressed in his traveling outfit and comes with his sword, "Sting", and a sheath. The photorealistic portrait of actor Martin Freeman has to be seen to be believed.

Bilbo is in scale with previous figure releases like Gollum and the classic NECA Epic scale collection of Aragorn, Legolas, and Gandalf.

NECA Action Figure Assassins, Monsters & Metal Men

NECA have been making geek dreams come true for a loooong time now but over the last two years or so, they've taken this approach into overdrive. I suppose it is all a no-brainer when you've got Randy Falk at the wheel creating what are probably the stuff of his childhood dreams. Whose got the best job? Randy does.

We dive back into NECA's plastic filled waters to take a look at the official pics for a trio of figures we first saw as prototypes at Toy Fair 2012 and one tweaked figure that will make your head spin.

Gordon Freeman from Half-Life 2 : This 7 inch scaled action figure joins the Player Select series complete with a crowbar, Gravity Gun, alternate hand and a Head Crab.

Also on tap are a Smoker from Left 4 Dead and Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed Revelations. Since these official pics have popped up and previously had a release date of Summer, we can assume they will be up for pre-order ASAP.












Our fourth figure isn't so much a new character as it is an awesome addition to an extremely popular figure many of you already own. How do you top Battle Damage and Glow in the Dark features? How about a working pop up leg holster on your Robocop action figure??!! We know next to nothing about this piece, but the words "spring loaded" were being thrown about, so we expect nothing short of awesome. San Diego Comic-Con 2012 : NECA Exclusives

ONE Month and 2 weeks from now, the greatest convention series that ever held a nerdling to it's bosom will kick off and attempt to drive me into the ground. Of course I am talking about San Diego Comic Con, which I have been attending for over 10 years...and it hasn't killed me yet!!! COME AT ME BRO! One day they will put me in a reality show where they send me to every convention they can find and try to snuff me with dorkiness. That would be a good way to die. NECA is gearing up for the most holy of geekapaloozas with a string of exclusives set to make grown men squeal like a tiny anime loving child who just saw Naruto in person. Their list is not yet complete, but we've got the first three polished up and ready for your trembling eyeballs...

The Amazing Glow in the Dark Robocop

You know the only thing better than a glow in the dark Robocop action figure? Nothing. Trick question. THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN A GLOW IN THE DARK ROBOCOP ACTION FIGURE!!! For the 25th anniversary of Robocop, NECA is releasing the man of metal in a form that hearkens back to the classic Kenner toy line of our youth. The Toys R Us exclusive Night Fighter Robocop comes sealed in a retro styled OCP clamshell that would make old school 8 bit Tron gush with envy. An Update on NECA's Toys R Us Exclusives Lineup

When we last reported on this series of Toys R Us exclusives, we didn't know much more than the names and matched that to pictures we'd shot. Now we THINK we have all the pics to go with the info. Here's the rundown...
