Mustard teased this single earlier this week via his Instagram, showcasing the duo in the studio together. The last time Mustard and Scott were heard together was on the 2016 single, “Whole Lotta Lovin’.” When discussing the record in an interview with Zane Lowe released earlier today, Mustard said he “needed something that feels like LA but you can play in Houston, you can play wherever you want to play it at, at a BBQ...” With his signature West Coast sound, and Scott’s Houston touch, "Parking Lot" is poised to become the ultimate soundtrack of the summer.
The single follows Mustard’s first No. 1 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with Kendrick Lamar's “Not Like Us” garnering over 96 million streams, making it the most streamed song in a seven-day period. It's been 5 years since the release of Perfect 10, which featured hits such as “Pure Water” and the Grammy-nominated “Ballin.” 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of 10 Summers Records, and Mustard recently partnered with BMG, under a new global recordings agreement, to release Faith of a Mustard Seed.
