The World of TMNT

Though playtime may be coming to an end for our turtles in a half shell, Playmates is planning a true grand finale year for the World of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, packed with major mashups and retro-styled figures and vehicles. The celebration is highlighted by two premium crossovers: the debut of TMNT x G.I. Joe and a continuation of the TMNT x Godzilla line, which are both designed to leave longtime Turtle collectors completely shell-shocked.

Godzilla: The Roleplaying Game Kickstarter

Launching next March with a Kickstarter campaign, Godzilla: The Roleplaying Game, reunites three Warhammer gaming legends – Jervis Johnson, Mark A. Latham, and Gav Thorpe for their first co-created tabletop game! Godzilla puts a team of players in the midst of kaiju attacks with character sheets, collaboration, and playing cards as their tools to defend humanity. This unique new game system uses standard 52-card decks, rather than dice. The Godzilla RPG Kickstarter campaign will be a 30-day pledge launching early 2026, and will feature limited edition tiers with expected fulfillment by fall 2026. Mondo Toys made a big splash with the debut of its all-new 1:6 scale Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line, reimagining the heroes in a darker, grittier universe that blends Elseworlds-style storytelling with premium collectible craftsmanship. Each figure features interchangeable accessories, swappable body parts, and a striking balance of realism and nostalgia. Mondo’s creative team described the series as part of a new storytelling and world-building initiative, set in a re-envisioned TMNT universe where the Turtles face off against Shredder, Krang, and Mouser in a gritty cityscape.

Every weekend I would become one with the couch and revel in the certainty that at least one Godzilla movie and one kung fu movie would be waiting for me on one of the (only) 7 TV channels available. Sure, kids can watch anything nowadays, but would they freely CHOOSE to watch men in rubber suits battle it out in tiny foam cities? Probably not. We didn't have that choice, and we have become better humans for it.
