Big Hero 6 Coming to Life

When Disney announced to the world they would be gobbling up Marvel Entertainment and bringing their entire universe of legendary characters into the fold..and by default, immediately exploring all possibilities with this vast roster, there was only one thought in my head. WHEN DO WE GET TO SEE PIXAR FEATURE LENGTH MARVEL CARTOONS??!!! Today, we get one step closer to my dream...

We are pleased to announce Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 2014 animated feature BIG HERO 6, an action comedy adventure about brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who finds himself in the grips of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy the fast-paced, high-tech city of San Fransokyo. With the help of his closest companion—a robot named Baymax—Hiro joins forces with a reluctant team of first-time crime fighters on a mission to save their city. Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, and featuring comic-book style action and all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, the CG-animated “Big Hero 6” hits theaters in 3D on November 7, 2014.

Here's the tiniest taste of what's to come...

Try as I might, I could not find any Marvel easter eggs in the blown up version of the city scape. Arg. I neeeeeed input! Some bits on possible characters from the original Marvel Comic Book's Wikipedia, who have been announced and those we think stand the greatest chance of making it into the movie...

Hiro Takachiho : Hiro Takachiho is a thirteen-year-old boy whose intelligence would astound the most brilliant minds around the world. He is an expert at creating new and unique technological wonders, including his bodyguard and fellow team member Baymax. Hiro does not want to join Big Hero 6 at first, but is forced to ally with the team when his mother is held hostage by the Everwraith. Hiro has recently constructed a flight suit that makes him more effective and versatile in battle. Hiro  has a crush on Honey Lemon.

Baymax : Created by Hiro for a school science project, the synthetic entity known only as Baymax became much more to Hiro after the death of his father. Now the best friend, father figure, and bodyguard of young Hiro, Baymax is at Hiro's side every hour of every day. Baymax is a synthformer who can morph his body into a dragon-like creature. When not directly at his creator's side, Baymax can be summoned during emergency situations via a wrist-mounted communication device worn by Hiro. Baymax's main power source is water, which can be used to instantly reactivate him.

Honey Lemon : Honey Lemon's (Aiko Miyazaki) name may be derived from the famous superhero-like magical girl Cutey Honey. Little is known of Honey Lemon's past, or how she obtained the purse that gives her "super-powers". At one point in her life, Honey got approached by the Japanese organization that created the country's first super-hero team known as Big Hero Six. She was offered to join the team and accepted. She became seemingly attracted to the team's newest potential recruit, Hiro Takachiho, as she kept smiling at him in a flirting way.

GoGo Tomago : GoGo Tomago (Leiko Tanaka) is known as the hothead of Big Hero 6. Tough-talking and mean-spirited, it has been alluded to that GoGo was released from prison in order to join Big Hero 6. GoGo is not very fond of anybody when it comes down to it, not even her own team mates. She feels that the beautiful Honey Lemon is always treated better than her. GoGo transforms her body into an explosive ball of energy which is able to be projected at vast speeds. To activate this power, however, she must utter her name.

Wasabi-No-Ginger : A trained chef who uses various swords to fight. He can also give form to his Qi-Energy, usually materializing it as throwing knives that can paralyze opponents.

Fred : Nicknamed Fredzilla, he can transform himself into a Godzilla-like creature. It is revealed that he is Ainu in origin and spent time growing up on a secret S.H.I.E.L.D. base in Japan.

Top 5 dream Disney-Marvel animation projects that would fit the format and comedic content ..ready ...go..

- She Hulk - My favorite run of comics for any Marvel character, She Hulk as a lawyer for a super human law firm after being booted from the Avengers mansion for having too many parties. It is ridiculously fun, quick witted and jam packed with guest stars from around the Marvel Universe. Spider-Man sues J.J.Jameson in one memorable issue!!

- Power Pack - Little kids with alien super powers and parents that don't know their secret. Best part...THEY'VE GOT AN UNCLE LOGAN!!! X-Men often crossed over into the book, so starting the story with a training exercise with the X-Men would send fans into geek convulsions....if they are allowed to animate the X-Men or does FOX own ALL things mutant?! Of course there are ways to SUGGEST where they are in that moment without actually using names. Sneaksyyyy.

- Defenders - Silver Surfer is spacey, Namor is an arrogant blowhard, Dr. Strange is overly dramatic and Hulk is...well..Hulk is Hulk. As an animated follow up to The Avengers, could there be a more perfect, and at the same time, hysterical team? Again, might be a problem in getting the Surfer but we are dreaming, aren't we?

- Avengers Initiative - The story of a government run training camp for super kids and young adults taking place just after the events of The Avengers. GOLD!

- Marvel Zombies - OK hear me out on this one. It's after the zombie apocalypse. There's no one left to eat, and so no horror for the little kiddies to be scared for life by. The Marvel Zombies are sort of just existing and for those that have read the comics, they know that the longer they go without food, the more they start acting like themselves. So, what if the Earth were attacked by Skrulls or some such after it was already ravaged by a zombie plague?? Spooky, drippy, monster fun with whatever super heroes the writers would want to include and plenty of cameos to make any Marvel fan go berserk. Also, the possibilities for comedy are endless.

What stories/ comics do you think are perfect for Disney animation?? Sound off in the comments!
