Robot Chicken: The Complete Series Coming to DVD 10/7

Robot Chicken the Complete Series

Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment invites fans to relive two decades of pop culture mayhem with the release of Robot Chicken: The Complete Series on DVD October 7, 2025. For the first time ever, 228 episodes of the Emmy® Award-winning Adult Swim series, including iconic specials themed around DC, Star Wars, The Walking Dead, Archie Comics, Christmas, and more, will be available in one definitive collection. This milestone release celebrates 20 years of the rapid-fire “channel flips” that propelled viewers through Robot Chicken’s twisted takes on nostalgia, pop culture, and everything in between. Fueled by old-school stop-motion animation and a crew of deeply disturbed toys, the quarter-hour show defined a generation of late-night animated sketch comedy.

Ready Player One "Dreamer" Trailer

My brain is screaming. No. Every fiber of my being is shouting DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE!! The cringe inducing "parody" posters. The non stop barrage of imagery of all the easter eggs you'll find in the film, flashing across screens like the dirty little apocalypse kids in Thunderdome shouting "MEMBER' THIS??!!" YES...I FEKKIN REMEMBER!! PLEASE STOP!! And still, through it all, Ready Player One premiered at SXSW and all my journo friends who lead much more interesting lives than I do watched...and went slack jawed...and then gushed all over the internets. They say it's great. Amazing. Everything you want from Spielberg. Ok..ok...I'm getting a little excited now.

Popular Skullture: The Skull Motif in Pulps, Paperbacks and Comics

Kitchen Sink Books/Dark Horse Comics announces the publication of Popular Skullture: The Skull Motif in Pulps, Paperbacks and Comics by Monte Beauchamp.

Handsomely designed, this compact art book pays tribute to skull imagery on the covers of comic books, pulp magazines and paperbacks from the 1930s,’40s and ‘50s. For example, on a 1943 cover of the legendary pulp Amazing Stories, a menacing skull hovers in front of a beautiful woman in a peach-colored gown whose hands are outstretched. The title “Priestess of the Floating Skull” radiates from the glowing enchantress and skull, creating an immediate mystery. This cover and more than 150 others make this collection an irresistible page-turner.

Super Heroes Become Deconstructive/Constructive at the Hoerle-Guggenheim Gallery

Superheroes in Gotham! Wonder Woman, Thor, Hulk, Batman, Superman and more stand tall at the Hoerle-Guggenheim Gallery which presents Jason Dussault's "Deconstructive/Constructive" art exhibition on view from March 20 – April 8, 2015 at 527 West 23rd Street in New York City. A portion of proceeds from the exhibition lithographs will benefit Free Arts NYC, a local organization providing underserved children and families with a unique combination of educational arts and mentoring programs that help them to foster the self-confidence and resiliency needed to realize their fullest potential.

Dussault is a Vancouver and New York based artist whose practice focuses on combining traditional forms of mosaic with pop-culture characters from his childhood and the present. The works presented recall the power of childhood memories through iconic characters that resonate with human nature’s desire to retain an inner youth. Playful in nature yet anchored to the stringent values of adulthood, Dussault seeks to remind the viewer of a fragility that ultimately leads to self-awareness. This is the artist’s debut solo exhibition in New York. Dussault explains, “Growing up in a small rural Canadian town in the late seventies and early eighties with young parents struggling to find their way, I spent much of my time alone, and the only access to art I had was comic books. I would spend hours trying to redraw these characters.  Deconstructive/Constructive is my tribute to comic book art, my first love and inspiration.”

The Eye Candy of Wondercon 2012

Yes, it is true we are still posting Toy Fair pics...because we have real jobs and there are about a billion of them...but that won't stop us from hitting another convention!! With the warm weather and chirping birds comes sweaty geeks, over priced pizza, long lines for John Luke Picard's coveted autograph and rows and rows of the very comic books that started all these gatherings of pasty peoples. This weekend, Wondercon hit Anaheim, CA, and our buddy Steve Sievers of level27media.com was there to soak up all the nerdiness and send back a nice pile of pics for your eager eyeballs. Here are the high points...

Dark Knight Rises Converse!! - We have seen DC Direct's awesome line of Batman: Dark Knight Rises movie statues and busts, so a collection of hats from New Era (available in July) and some killer Converse sneakers (also in July, available at Journeys) stole the show for me. DC Entertainment were also showing a couple of Justice League figures, MAD Magazine Spy vs Spy figures, and the Alfred as Just-Us League members figure line. Plenty more pics of those things and other Bat-Family merchandise like the Arkham City action figure line right HERE!

Quick note: DARK KNIGHT RETURNS ANIMATED MOVIE COMING!!!
Additional note: BATMAN LIVE coming to the US September 5-9 at the Honda Center in Anaheim and Sept. 27-30 at the Staples Center in LA!!

Gentle Giant Marvel Busts - Wondercon is the first show since San Diego Comic Con that GG has popped up at..meaning we didn't get our fix at Toy Fair save for a hand full of official pics. One look at Gentle Giant's HULK should give you all the reasons in the world to sit up, take notice and start making your must buy list! For me, it's the Deadpool Corps with Deadpool, Lady Deadpool, Kidpool, Headpool, Dogpool and if you are a completest...Squirrelpool. If this is your first time being alerted to these awesome Deadpool pieces, you may want to go look up Gentle Giant's Deadpool head pen holder as well! Stick your implements of destruction (and writing) directly into his head and assure all the fine folks in your office will be looking at YOU any time someone calls in an anonymous bomb threat. Good times. GG also showed off some of their newest Star Wars busts and retro 12 inch figures, their newest Sucker Punch statues and even a lil bitty Mars Attacks head..saucer..thingy. Adorable.

Retro Outlaw Studios Clockwork Orange 12 inch Mighty Droog Leader - Retro Outlaw's love affair with A Clockwork Orange continues with this kick ass in-action figure which appears to come in orange bronze and fully painted editions. The box boasts super secrets inside and a stand included! Eagle eyed toy hunters will remember this as an extremely limited SDCC exclusive with all pieces signed by Malcolm Mcdowell and painter Santoro. The secret prizes locked inside include art prints, stickers and buttons. The crew at Retro must have found some left overs, so if you are hot for this piece, better get in touch with them asap and hope something is left from Wondercon!

Avengers Prop Movie Replicas - With the Avengers trailer making grown geeks teary eyed across the globe, it is no wonder EFX have a hit on their hands with their prop replica line. On display at Wondercon were Captain America's helmet and shield, Thor's helmet and hammer and Iron Man's helmet along side some helmets from Star Wars, a light saber or two and costumes from Battlestar Galactica. Steve made sure to shoot every angle of those Avengers prop replicas so you can see the extreeeeeme detail that went into re-creating these.

Also on display were Triad Toys' 12 action figures from Zoro, John Carter of Mars and more, I Heart Guts adorable plush body parts, Quantum Mechanix Doctor Horrible, Serenity and Star Trek pieces, and Kotobukiya's killer Marvel Comics statues as well as their Bishoujo girls statue line ...complete with a new wave of Tekken ladies coming soon!

The Simpsons go POP!

Funko adds to their army of the irresistibly cute POP! Vinyl figures with the soulless eyes of a forgotten orphan with that jaundice gang from Springfield! It has been a very long time since someone did something new and interesting with the Simpsons license, so I'm sure this line of figures and plush is going to go over swimmingly.

Available this November, the 4 inch tall Simpsons POP! Vinyl line will include Homer, Marge, Bart and Krusty the Clown, retailing for about $10 a pop (pun intended). Just before that release, we'll see the launch of 7 inch tall Simpsons plush dolls with Krusty, Homer, Bart, Itchy and Scratchy! Look for them October 20th.

*UPDATED! : Nike Takes Your Feet Up to 88MPH

The world of competitive sneakering is one I rarely understand. Occasionally I see a pair of limited edition kicks I have an interest in and give a call to a store to see if they have them...and then the laughing begins. Of all the elitist things to collect...THIS MUST BE THE ELITIEST!! I can't even imagine owning a pair of sneakers that have never tasted asphalt...but I may have considered a pair of "Party Only" sneakers if I could have scored those awesome Freddy Krueger inspired dunks. At any rate, not having my complete and unwavering love has not stopped the manufacturers from conceiving endless awesome creations, often borrowing from pop culture to sweeten the drool factor. Yesterday, Nike showed the world something so pretty...you just might lick the screen...

Presenting the 2011 Nike MAGs. The hunt is on. More details to come!

Side note: Best comment on the Youtube page where this is posted - From gearsdan "I dont know how I did it, but I was finally able to masturbate to this video." Bravo.

UPDATE: Introducing the future of Nike Footwear. The 2011 Nike MAG shoes have arrived. 1500 of the famous, LED-electroluminescent shoes will be auctioned on eBay, Sept 8th - Sept 18th. All net proceeds from the auction sales will go directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

Bleeding Cool has reported the auctions go live at 8:30PST but there is currently no link to the account you should be watching. Keep it glued here for more info..until the auctions go live..then it's every geek for him/herself.

UPDATE #2: The NIKE MAG is no longer the “greatest shoe never made.” The mythical shoe that originally captured the imagination of audiences in Back to the Future II is being released – and they’re here to help create a future without Parkinson’s disease.

1500 pairs of the 2011 NIKE MAG will be auctioned on eBay with all net proceeds going directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Each day for the duration of the ten-day auction, one hundred and fifty pairs of the 2011 NIKE MAG shoes will be made available via eBay’s Fashion Vault. The auction starts September 8, 8:30PM PST, and will end September 18. Thanks to a previous 50 million dollar match given to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, all donations will be matched, effectively doubling the contributions from the auction.

The original NIKE MAG was worn by the Back to the Future character Marty McFly, played by Michael J. Fox, in the year 2015. It came alive, lit up and formed to Marty’s foot. The 2011 NIKE MAG shoe was designed to be a precise replica of the original from Back to the Future II. The aesthetic is an exact match, down to the contours of the upper, the glowing LED panel and the electroluminescent NIKE in the strap. The 2011 NIKE MAG illuminates with the pinch of the “ear” of the high top, glowing for five hours per charge.

The 2011 NIKE MAG - It’s About Time.

HA! So here's a link to the auctions, but be prepared to sell a body part. Kicks in my size start at 4k and are going up to 9k!! There will be no 1.21 Gigawatts on my feet this yr.
