Spider-Man and Iron Man Bring the Battle to Walgreens

Walgreens stores have long been the home for exclusive Marvel Minimates based on Marvel’s many animated television shows. Now, two new adversarial two-packs have hit the shelves, comprising Series 12 of the long-running series! From Marvel’s Spider-Man, Miles Morales (a.k.a. Spy-D) takes on the Prowler, and comes with a removable mask, interchangeable web-slinging hands, a web line and two display stands. From Marvel’s Avengers, Iron Man faces off with the Ghost, and includes a removable helmet, removable hair piece, flight stand, and two display stands.

NYCC 2018: Diamond Select Toys Returns

New York Comic-Con is approaching, and Diamond Select Toys is prepping a massive presence at the show, with cases of advance prototypes, shelves of products for sale, a panel, two signings and an exclusive! Read on for details, and come see us at booth 1644!

Starting Thursday, Oct. 4, DST will offer an exclusive Minimate of the Battle Beast Desmodius, a fearsome black bat armed with a sword and glaive. Measuring approximately 2 inches tall, and featuring 14 points of articulation, it is fully interchangeable with all Minimates mini-figures. It will come packaged in a clear polybag with hangtag, and sell for $6.

Guardians of the Galaxy Minimates Land at Toys R Us

One of the most highly anticipated Marvel movies to date, Guardians of the Galaxy, is in movie theaters now, and response has been so great that a sequel is already  in the works for 2017! It still blows my mind that a show about people attempting to survive a zombie apocalypse is getting phenomenal ratings every time it claws its way back to your TV screen. Walker Wednesdays will celebrate that triumph. We may not do it EVERY Wednesday, because there is a finite amount of zombie stuff we can scrounge up and only so many hours in the day, but for the next couple of weeks, we'll have some fun with the undead. Toy Fair 2014: Diamond Select Prepares for Captain America: Winter Soldier

It's that time of year where giant size corporations snag the most sought after toy reveals, shouting to their teaming masses about things their demographic generally cares nothing about. Yea, yea...I'm bitter. Today MTV takes a break from Teen Mothers and Macklemore's Tweets to reveal a small stack of Diamond Select's Captain America Winter Soldier merchandise. Here's the weird part...and this happens every year as well...particularly to Diamond. Marvel/Disney must have straight up given Diamond (ie; Previews Magazine) the go ahead to reveal Falcon from Hasbro's 3.75 inch action figure line (which we showed off HERE), but could there still be some mandate that Captain America's Stealth Suit (seen in action figure pictures and the trailer) be somewhat secret??!! Check this. To the left is the suit in question via the Marvel Select Captain America: Winter Soldier Action Figure, which has been kept under a silhouette until today. Notice the oddball thing? Take a closer look...

Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United Minimate Offer

The Blu-ray and DVD are headed our way December 3rd with the mind blowing CGI that made that Max Steel cartoon from some years back so damn..umm..popular? appealing? cutting edge? Listen, we know if you are a die hard Marvel fan, you're probably not looking forward to this DVD, and I can already report I attempted to show the film to a bunch of friends last weekend and we got 20 minutes or so in before we unanimously voted to switch over to some film with Sam Jackson cursing a lot (which could mean one of 500 films). Hulk makes constipated faces, Iron Man sounds like Spider-Man and the main bad guy appeared to be Zzzax..which is about as exciting as it sounds. One shining moment has Hulk using Iron Man as a club, but that's as awesome as it gets..well..in the initial moments we've watched so far...but I digress.

Marvel Zombie Minimates Return

Fans of Minimates, zombies and scary Marvel comics alike celebrated when Diamond Select Toys announced that they would be bringing zombies back to the Marvel Minimates line. Well, we’ve got even more good news! Not only do we have pics of the new, horrific packaging for the Villain Zombies Box Set, we’re also happy to say that it is on the way to U.S. shores!

As you can tell by the Halloween Comicfest logo, DST plans to have the set in comic shops in time to celebrate Comicfest 2013, which will happen at participating stores on October 31st. SDCC 2013: Diamond Select & Previews Exclusives

Since San Diego Comic Con is the biggest geek gathering on the planet, Diamond knows their exclusives need to be exciting enough to cause a dork-pede as the doors open. Marvel Minimates Wolverine Saga Box Set - $20
This box set includes four different Minimates spotlighting different moments in Wolverine's life. Symbiote Wolverine depicts the New Avenger when he was possessed by a Venom clone, Spacesuit Wolverine shows him in his frequently utilized space armor, Ultimate Wolverine is his well-known Ultimate Universe counterpart and Logan-san in Japanese Robes shows him circa his engagement to Mariko Yashida. Each Minimate stands 2 inches tall, with a variety of interchangeable parts and accessories, including a shirtless look for Logan-San, and removable helmet and armor for Spacesuit Wolverine, to reveal a modern Wolverine costume!

SDCC 2013: Battle Beasts Return

Last year, Comic-Con International attendees were present for ground zero of Diamond Select Toys' new Battle Beasts Minimates toy line, with the first-ever two-pack, the launch of the comic book mini-series and a daily giveaway figure! Now, with Series 2 in development and a new comic in the works, Diamond Select will be giving away a new promotional Battle Beast at this year's show!

Shadow Merk is a new figure of Merk, the deadly falcon who forms one-third of the band of Beast heroes at the forefront of IDW's comic book mini-series. Cast in translucent purple plastic, the figure will be given out each morning at the Diamond Select Toys booth, #2607, in a sealed plastic bag. A limited number will be available each day (but not on Preview Night), so make the DST booth your first stop!

Also, be sure to pick up Series 1 in the store at the DST booth, check out a few Series 2 prototypes in the DST display cases, and come learn more about what's next at the Minimates panel on Saturday at 1:30 in Room 8!

The Walking Dead Minimates Come to Un-Life

The third series of The Walking Dead Minimates hits comic shops and specialty stores on June 12th, and has already been spotted at Toys "R" Us. To commemorate the occasion, Diamond Select Toys and Art Asylum have put together a short film starring all of the TWD Minimates to date, and it's not for the faint of heart!

With photography and editing by Alex Kropinak (Marvel's What the...?!), a voiceover by Chris Ward (the band Acorns to Oaks) and music by Matt Takacs, the film draws on Rick's famous speech from the prison arc of the groundbreaking comic book, setting it to some of the most horrifying Minimates images you have ever seen. Check out the film below, and look for Series 3 in your local store!

Iron Man 3 Minimates Emerge

The latest Iron Man 3 trailer has everyone talking about what kind of products we'll see on toy store shelves as the movie's release date approaches. And while they still need to keep some of their figures under wraps, Diamond Select Toys has unveiled two more Marvel Minimates based on the film!

The first, "Suit Up" Tony Stark, will be one of four Toys "R" Us-exclusive Minimates, and will come packaged with a mystery figure to be revealed later. He is shown wearing parts of the Mark 42 armor, which can be summoned and controlled via mental link in the film, as seen in the trailer. The boots and gauntlets will be removable, and Tony will also come with regular hands and shoes.

Walking Dead Minimates Series 3 Will Rise this Spring

The dead cannot be stopped, and neither can the Walking Dead Minimates! With Series 2 in Toys "R" Us, comic shops and specialty stores now, Series 3 is gearing up for production from Diamond Select Toys! And like the first two series, it includes popular lead characters, short-lived favorites and zombies straight from the comic book pages!

As we stand perched on the edge of 2012, we stare into an abyss of possibility. One landing point includes aliens, flaming rocks and an earthquake that shifts the continents and makes that TOOL song a reality. The other...business as usual. People keep being crappy to each other, your government makes their apathy clear and we take comfort in our little plastics to make it all better. To that end, we'll take another dip into the Marvel Comics Universe, started in THIS ARTICLE where we sketched out plans for Avengers Assemble, Iron Man 3 and Ultimate Spider-Man toys, THIS ONE on the Wolverine movie toys and finally THIS ONE expanding on the Iron Man madness to come.

Now, we step back into Stark-tainted waters and focus on one toy that had die hard fans speculating about IM3 movie scenes and another that was a bit of a mystery for us...
