Today, we explore the Star Wars Giant Size figures JAKKS Pacific has put up for pre-order for 2014. Not much more to say about them other than their names. The figures will include the same basic articulation and excellent detail we've come to expect from the series. If the Luke Skywalker below is any indication of their sculpting talents at work, they are going to be raking in the cash.
For 2014 we have:
Boba Fett
Chewbacca
Darth Maul
Stormtrooper
Stormtrooper Disguise Han Solo
Stormtrooper Disguise Luke Skywalker

and for the new Star Wars Rebels TV show we've got:
Ezra
Grand Inquisitor
Green Stormtrooper
Kanan
We expect the Inquisitor figure will look much like this Hasbro 3 and 3 quarter inch figure...
The "Rebels" storyline goes like this:
It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet [Lothal], ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people. But there are a select few who are brave enough to stand up against the endless Stormtroopers and TIE fighters of the Empire: the clever and motley crew of the starship Ghost. Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, have thrilling adventures, and become heroes.
On MoviePilot.de, the show is described by executive producer Dave Filoni as "lighter". Star Wars Rebels "brings back the banter and faster pace that the original films were famous for." "Most of the stories take place on the planet Lothal, which is a grass planet with large monolithic stones on the surface. The look comes from some Ralph McQuarrie concept paintings that were done for the original Star Wars films." We are also told many of the classic space ships we've come to know from the original trilogy will be present.
Keep watching for more Toy Fair reports as there is still a ton of stuff to get through.

That Luke Skywalk at the bottom is a from a still photograph of Mark Hamill in costume. =)
ReplyDeleteThe Luke Skywalker is actually a picture of the Sideshow 12" Stormtrooper Luke… not Mark Hamill.
ReplyDeleteI like to score inquisitor 31 inches and Darth Maul 31 inches.
ReplyDeleteJakks is very good in make giant athletic figures.
The plastic material ik like too.
The athletic is monumental simply in hard lines without to much detail.
